Lincoln, Nebraska's Con O'Shea Creal has this to say about SOMETHING ROTTEN!--I would say it's such a good time for all. If you love musicals, there will be something for you there. If you grew up wondering why you were reading, "Romeo and Juliet" in high school and you just wanted to bang your head against the desk, this is going to give you some shared experience to release those feelings of frustration about Shakespeare.

One of the difficulties of doing the Disney Theatrical, The Little Mermaid, is how to do the underwater scenes. Yes, much of the story of Ariel, the daughter of King Triton, the master of the sea, in her search for 'a world in which I feel truly realized in my own terms,' takes place, as the songs states, 'Under the Sea,' in contrast to 'The World Above.'

Much like the much-loved musical "Fiddler on the Roof," IN THE HEIGHTS focuses on family love and traditions being challenged by the beliefs of the next generation. In our modern world where a good education can make all the difference, what does it take for a poor family to put a cherished only child through an expensive university? And what happens when the student cannot keep up and drops out and gets romantically involved with someone her parents don't think is good enough? And what happens when a neighborhood is challenged by urban renewal and its flavor is about to be lost? Can it be Saved when local shop owners must leave their beloved neighborhood when rents rise?

It was fitting that the World Premiere of "A Voice Among the Silent" was held in the only United States synagogue to be honored with a papal visit in 2008, when Pope Benedict XVI was hosted by the the congregation and Rabbi Arthur Schneier. This eye opening documentary about James McDonald, the son of Catholic immigrants, was almost lost to history until his meticulously kept diaries were discovered in 2003.
