Rosemary Newcott? will receive the ?Harold Oaks Award for Sustained Excellence in TYA?; ?Chicago Children's Theatre? South Coast Repertory Artistic Director David Ivers and Managing Director Paula Tomei today announced the lineup for the 2019 Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF). The annual showcase of new works kicks off on April 26 with a concert reading of a new musical adaptation of Prelude to a Kiss, directed by Ivers in his directorial debut as SCR's artistic director.

Mandated by Congress in 1988 to address the lack of diverse voices in public media, ITVS has served as an incubator for filmmakers and a funder of more than 1400 films. The recipient of the 2017 Institutional Peabody Award, ITVS has been recognized for its “broad transformative impact on the media landscape.”

Trinity Rep Announces The 2018 Local Pell Award Honorees

Trinity Repertory Company announced today that three area residents will be honored at its 2018 Pell Awards Gala on Monday, May 21, 2018 in Providence.  Pawtucket-based designer and artist Morris Nathanson will receive a Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts. Longtime Providence philanthropist and arts advocate Jane S. Nelson will receive the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts. The Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts will go to Jeannine Chartier in recognition of her work with VSA arts Rhode Island. Additional honorees will be announced at a later date.

A new play, Just My TYPE - The Musical, about the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Assessment, explores how the four pairs of personality traits affect one's loves and life. Four couples are chosen to illustrate what happens when opposites mate. The script is based on Type Talk (1988) and 16 Ways to Love Your Lover (1994) by Otto Krueger and Janet Thuesen.
