Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced a line-up of all new work Off-Broadway at the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre.

La MaMa's 58th Season continues to celebrate the centennial of La MaMa's celebrated founder, the late Ellen Stewart with the announcement of its Winter/Spring lineup in its 58th season. In 2005, he starred in David Brind and Adam Salky's acclaimed short film, Dare, about two teenage boys' tense, spark-filled encounter in a pool following high school play practice. Dare gained a cult following as part of Strand Releasing's 'Boys Life' series and ultimately achieved worldwide popularity via more than 12 Million views on Youtube. The fan fervor (and fan fiction!) eventually inspired a sequel, ten years later. The original and the sequel are now being presented together as The Dare Project and attracting new legions of fans.

Opening weekend of the Ojai Film Festival features a throwback tribute to the days of big studios and contract players. Pat Boone plans to attend the screening of his 1962 movie State Fair on Saturday November 2, at 7 pm, followed by a reception in his honor at 9 pm. On Sunday, November 3 at 10 am, the Ojai Film Festival will present him with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Utah Symphony | Utah Opera announced today that Paul Meecham, president & CEO, will be stepping down at the end of this month. He has served in this position since July 2016. Patricia A. Richards, who served as chair of the USUO board from 2005 through 2014 and was interim CEO from 2015 through 2016, will become interim CEO starting October 1, 2019.

Houston Grand Opera opens the 2019a?'20 season with a new production of Verdi's Rigoletto under the direction of Tomer Zvulun, who returns to HGO after directing last season's haunting The Flying Dutchman. Featuring some of opera's most recognizable music, Rigoletto is a tragic story of jealousy, lust, and revenge. The antagonistic jester Rigoletto is cursed after a joke with the villainous Duke of Mantua goes too far. Despite his best efforts to protect his beloved daughter Gilda, Rigoletto is unable to keep her safe from the outside world and the curse's fulfillment. He most certainly will not have the last laugh. The dark undertones are reflected in the theme a?oea man who seeks revenge should dig two graves.a??
