The new musical Goddess can currently be seen in its New York premiere production at the Public Theater on Lafayette Street. Directed by the Public’s associate artistic director and resident director Saheem Ali, who is currently Tony Award-nominated for directing Buena Vista Social Club, Goddess is playing at the Public’s largest space by capacity, the Newman Theatre.

Broadway actors Tom Nelis (INDECENT), Henry Stram (TITANIC), Ashley Perez Flanagan (FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME), Andrew Polec (BAT OUT OF HELL), Kate Fuglei (SPRING AWAKENING), George Abud (THE VISIT) and Drama Desk winner Starr Busby (OCTET) are among the 12-member cast of the new musical THE BEAUTIFUL LADY.

You most likely know today’s subject Erin Driscoll Gardiner as a superb performer. The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

The Public Theater will present the Annual Gala performance of the groundbreaking and thought-provoking musical RUNAWAYS by Elizabeth Swados on Monday, June 11 at the Delacorte Theater. There will also be a free added public performance of the musical on Tuesday, June 12, open to all.
