The Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra, established in 1946 in suburban Philadelphia, was honored with a national award by The American Prize for its première recording released by New Focus Recordings of never-before-recorded compositions by American female composers, selected from the Fleisher Collection of the Philadelphia Free Library.

City Springs Theatre Company kicks off the 2022-23 PNC Bank season with Anything Goes. Directed and choregraphed by Sara Edwards, toe-tapping production of Cole Porter’s classic 1930s musical will be presented September 9-25, 2022 in the Byers Theatre at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center (1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs). 

ELLA: An American Miracle, a new musical written by Anna Deavere Smith (Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 and Notes From The Field) and featuring music from the Ella Fitzgerald songbook, is currently in development, with an upcoming work session held from August 25-September 21 to conclude with a private industry presentation.

The Tony Nominated Broadway musical Girl From The North Country announced that the production was professionally captured prior to its re-opening on April 29th for future use.

“ER” star Anthony Edwards took to the stage on Friday evening in his Broadway musical debut as “Dr. Walker” in the recently Tony Nominated musical Girl From The North Country. With several members of the company out of the show due to COVID, Edwards stepped in at the last moment, and after only an hour of rehearsal time, to ensure that the show would go on. He starred opposite his wife, Mare Winningham, who was recently nominated for a Tony Award for her role.

Last night, Girl From The North Country hosted a special performance and gala to celebrate their third time opening on Broadway, as well as their seven Tony Award nominations, including “Best New Musical.” 

After celebrating its 25th Anniversary in residence at Theater Wit—a season that featured the world premiere, acclaimed hit Relentless, which went on to an extended run at Goodman Theatre—the company will return to its longtime home in Chicago’s Lakeview East neighborhood, located at 615 W. Wellington Avenue, for three productions.
