Trinity Rep Announces 2018-19 Season Casting And NEW Company Member

Tony Award-winning Trinity Repertory Company announces the casting for its 2018-19 season as well as the addition of Daniel Duque-Estrada, the latest member to its resident acting company.  Leading the announcement of this season's cast is The Arthur P. Solomon and Sally E. Lapides Artistic Director, Curt Columbus. "What makes Trinity Rep truly great and truly unique is our resident acting company.  These are some of the best theater artists working on stage today, and we are so fortunate that they are living and working here in Rhode Island.  Each of them brings a fresh perspective to these classic works, and I can't wait for audiences to see them."

Alexandra Silber to Lead CAMELOT at Shakespeare Theatre Company

Shakespeare Theatre Company today announces the cast of Lerner and Loewe's multiple Tony Award-winning musical Camelot. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul (Kiss Me, Kate; Man of La Mancha), the classic musical will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from May 22 through July 1, concluding STC's 2017-2018 mainstage season.

'Distant Observer: Tokyo/New York Correspondence' is a collaboration between Japanese playwright/director Takeshi Kawamura and American playwright/director John Jesurun. The project is conceived as a play written and directed in collaborative partnership by both artists. Written in sequential chapters by each playwright, it combines two noted and formative artists of the same generation, both with distinct voices and significant work, in a deep creative conversation across cultures. Its plot follows a supposed murderer who reinvents himself, and is reinvented by circumstance, in a series of adventures in the Suicide Forest of Japan.  La MaMa will present the play's world premiere, directed by Jesurun, March 16 to April 1 in its Ellen Stewart Theatre, 66 East Fourth Street.

Due to Hurricane Harvey, Houston Ballet is unable to perform the opening two productions at the company's home venue. However, Houston Ballet is pleased to report that select performances of fall programming have been rescheduled at THE HOBBY CENTER - SAROFIM HALL. For a limited time from September 22-24 at The Hobby Center, Houston Ballet presents Sir Kenneth MacMillan's Mayerling, and will be the first North-American company to perform this compelling production. Originally premiering on February 14, 1978 at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden by the Royal Ballet, Mayerling also had a triumphant American premiere in Los Angeles that same year and was the subject of a London Weekend Television film, winning the 1978 music category of the prestigious Prix Italia - the first ballet to do so.

Producers announced today the first North American tour and full casting of the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of THE COLOR PURPLE. 2017/18 Professional Training Institute Ensemble Announced

Milwaukee Repertory Theater is pleased to announce the 2017/18 Professional Training Institute (PTI) ensemble, an advanced actor training program for students in 8th-12th grade who may have an interest in pursuing a career as a professional theater artist.   The 2017/18 PTI ensemble includes Elliott Brotherhood, Juliana Garcia-Malacara-Flynn, Lindsay Gleason, Durran Goodwin Jr., Kamani Graham, Meguire Hennes, Nathan Kabara, Maricella Kessenich, Logan Muñoz, Bradley Nowacek, Reese Parish, Dominic Schiro, Payton Elizabeth Stovall, Kenyon Terrell, Saleaqua Winston, and Mainyia Xiong.  These sixteen students hailing from fourteen different high schools will receive free training from some of the top theater professionals in the world, culminating in a capstone summer performance where they will be employed as paid, professional actors.
