The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents the national tour of Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time Tony Award winning musical play written by Tony Award nominee Rick Elice and directed by Tony Award?winner Roger Rees and Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers, from today, January 28 to February 16, 2014 in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Press opening night is Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.

Peter and the Starcatcher will play for one week only from tonight, January 22-26, 2014.

Peter and the Starcatcher sets sail today and will play its final performance at New World Stages today, Sunday, January 12, 2014, after almost two years, five Tony Awards, and 645 performances (both on Broadway and at New World Stages). Written by Tony Award nominee Rick Elice and directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Rees and Tony Award-nominee Alex Timbers, Peter and the Starcatcher opened on Broadway on April 15, 2012 and ran until January 20, 2013, before beginning performances at New World Stages (340 West 50th St.) on Monday, March 18, 2013.

The imaginative boy first appeared in the 1902 novel The Little White Bird. After winning prestigious awards both on Broadway and Off-Broadway, Disney's PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, a magical prequel to Peter Pan, is headed for Houston. The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is the First National Tour production's third stop on their expansive route. The tour cast kicked off the show on August 15, 2013 in Denver and are currently playing to audiences in Dallas. The producers of Peter and the Starcatcher announced today that the production has launched a special Instagram video contest to help celebrate the 11th Annual International Talk Like A Pirate Day on Thursday, September 19. The contest invites fans of the Tony Award-winning play to do their best Pirate impressions (Black Stache or other pirate voices accepted!), and explain why they think tickets to Peter and the Starcatcher are the ultimate treasure.

On this edition of 'In Focus', host Eden Lane spends time at the 'press day' for for the 1st National Tour of Peter and the Starcatcher, launching in Denver. Lane meets with Donyale Werle, who won the 2012 Tony Award for her Peter and the Starcatcher set design.
