CTG to Celebrate 'Talk Like a Pirate Day' 9/19 with PETER AND THE STARCATCHER Discount

By:

Center Theatre Group will participate in the 11th annual international "Talk Like a Pirate Day," Thursday, September 19 in honor of "Peter and the Starcatcher," which features pirate captain Black Stache and his crusty crew, Peter and the Lost Boys, mermaids and more. "Peter and the Starcatcher" plays at the Ahmanson Theatre December 3, 2013, through January 12, 2014.

Thar's plenty o' plunder for all with a special 50% off ticket offer for "Peter and the Starcatcher" will be available for September 19 only; tickets may be purchased by calling 213-972-4444 and speaking like a pirate or online at www.CenterTheatreGroup.org with the promotional code "ARGH." For more details on this special offer, visit www.CenterTheatreGroup.org/ARGH.

Ever since Dave Barry, the co-author (with Ridley Pearson) of the novel "Peter and the Starcatchers" (on which the play is based), mentioned "International Talk Like a Pirate Day" in his nationally syndicated newspaper column in 2002, what once was a goofy idea celebrated by a handful of friends has turned into an international phenomenon that shows no sign of letting up. To see the inaugural video by Dave Barry himself, please Dave Barry Launches 'Talk Like a Pirate Day', and continue to check back on BroadwayWorld.com for new videos.

The imaginative play by Rick Elice tells the tale of an orphan who heads to a faraway land, where he finds love, friendship, and, ultimately, himself. "Peter and the Starcatcher" is comprised of a company of 12 actors playing more than a hundred unforgettable characters, all on a journey to answer the century-old question: How did Peter Pan become The Boy Who Never Grew Up?

Tickets for "Peter and the Starcatcher" are available by calling (213) 972-4400, visiting online at www.CenterTheatreGroup.org, or in person at the Center Theatre Group box office at the Ahmanson Theatre. Tickets range from $20 - $110 (ticket prices are subject to change). The Ahmanson Theatre is located at the Music Center, 135 N. Grand Avenue in Downtown L.A. 90012.
