The Lyric Stage Company of Boston announces the cast & creative team for COMPANY, with Music and Lyrics by STEPHEN SONDHEIM and Book by GEORGE FURTH. Directed by Spiro Veloudos with music director Catherine Stornetta and choreography & musical staging by Rachel Bertone, COMPANY will run September 2 - October 9, 2016.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) just announced full casting for the first two shows of the 2016/17 season, NAT TURNER IN JERUSALEM and OTHELLO.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team of the West Coast premiere of OCTOBER SKY, which will blast off the Globe's 2016-2017 Season with a tale of boys, rockets, and big dreams.

Producers Bob Israel and Larry Hirschhorn announced today that Garry Marshall's iconic movie THE FLAMINGO KID is being developed as a musical, with sights set on a Spring, 2018 Broadway opening. 

Cheeseburger Deluxe, a new musical play featuring book, music, and lyrics by J. William Bruce, will receive its world premiere production at The 4th Street Theater in New York City.

The Huntington Theatre Company will open its 2016-2017 season with the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Sunday in the Park with George, Stephen Sondheim's stunning masterpiece about love, inspiration, and "the art of making art." Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois (A Little Night Music) will direct. Performances will run September 9 - October 16, 2016 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre. Tickets are now on sale to the general public.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) has announced that Vincent J. Cardinal, Connecticut Repertory Theatre Artistic Director and Head of the Department of Dramatic Arts at the University of Connecticut will step down from his position at the end of July. Cardinal, who is departing at the conclusion of the popular 2016 Nutmeg Summer Series, will become the Arthur and Martha Hearron Endowed Professor of Musical Theatre, Chair of the Department of Musical Theatre and Professor of Music, School of Music Theatre and Dance at the University of Michigan.

Kimber Lee's beautiful drama tokyo fish story, directed by May Adrales, opens today, June 2 at The Old Globe. The production runs through June 26, 2016, in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $29.

Disaster! producers Robert Ahrens and Hunter Arnold and Broadway Records President Van Dean today announced the release of 'Never Can Say Goodbye,' the first single from the forthcoming Original Broadway Cast Recording (out Friday, September 9, 2016), available for digital download on the label's website at BroadwayRecords.com. The classic 70's single is performed by 2016 Tony Award nominee Jennifer Simard of the critically-acclaimed new musical comedy.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, is continuing its unique partnership with the Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC) again this summer with a remount of the wildly popular GET concert production of Almost Heaven, John Denver's America outdoors at the CNC. The company of the critically acclaimed musical comedy Disaster! will reunite to record the original Broadway cast album on Monday, May 16.  The cast recording will be released by Broadway Records onFriday, September 9, 2016.
