Othello (Shakespeare)

Atlas Shakespeare Company has released rehearsal photos for its upcoming production of OTHELLO. Directed by Adriana Alter, the production will run June 17 through June 28 at the Underground Theater at Abrons Arts Center in Manhattan.

Directed by Eric Tucker, Bedlam‘s new production of Othello is now playing at the West End Theatre off-Broadway. The production features just four actors inhabiting the 19 roles of Othello. Read the reviews here!

Othello is arguably Shakespeare’s most controversial show, often called a “problem show,” given its deep explorations into race and misogyny. Putting on a production of Othello is no small feat, but under the direction of Associate Artistic Director Candice Handy, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, and the entire cast and crew did a fantastic job exploring the intricacies of this infamous show and crafting a production that felt uniquely their own.
