BWW Feature: Celebrate 'The Lusty Month of May' with 10 Hot-Blooded Showtunes
by Jeffrey Walker - May 25, 2015

The Lusty Month of May; like the song says: 'It's time to do a wicked thing or two!' It's May, the time when spring brings that hot-blooded, four letter word: lust. Musicals have had a steady history of lusty musical numbers. There are songs about rolling in the hay, and others extolling the virtues of different (ahem) flavors of man-candy. Some songs are paens to hot, steamy nights, and some are about what you do on those kind of nights.

BWW Reviews: PINK MARTINI a Colorful NYE at Disney Concert Hall
by Don Grigware - Jan 2, 2015

Just how amazing is the music made by Pink Martini? Well, judging from their recent appearance on New Year's Eve December 31 at Walt Disney Concert Hall - and this was not their first NYE appearance in this venue - pretty awesome! How many other orchestras do you know that play such a mix of genres; classical, jazz and pop...and in so many different languages within the same program? Pink Martini is unique in that respect and they know how to rivet and hold an audience spellbound for 100 minutes.

BWW Recap: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is Home for the Holidays
by Erin Resnick - Dec 11, 2014

Let's address one thing, if you are a resident of Mystic Falls ambiguously aged between 18-27, you should be getting on your knees and thanking the heavens that your parents are alive. It's much more shocking to have living relatives in a town of 5 people. Unfortunately for our favorite gang of vampires, witches, and supernatural beings galore, any death or terminal illness of a parent or relative is a heartbreaking shock that can only be remedied with bourbon and decorating Christmas tress.

BWW Reviews: National Tour of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is More Beastly Than Beautiful
by Jeff Davis - Oct 10, 2014

The current touring production of Beauty and the Beast shares the songs, dialogue, title, and even the creative team of the original Broadway production, but it completely lacks any sort of purpose, save the desire to put cash in the pockets of its producers. There's no magic or life in this pitiful production at all.
