The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced programming for its 2018-2019 theater season. The upcoming season not only exemplifies the Kennedy Center as a home for the best theater productions from Broadway and around the world, but also reinvigorates the Center's commitment to self-producing world-class theatrical work at the nation's performing arts center.

Several of the country's leading dancers and musical artists stand on stage together with Jonkoping's Sinfonietta when the Broadway Music On the Town comes to Scandinavia and the Spira Culture House for the first time. This May, the Octagon Theatre Bolton continue their 50th Anniversary season with their first off-site production of 2018 - a not to be missed site-specific staging of the much-loved 1960's musical film Summer Holiday. The production will be co-directed by Octagon Theatre's Artistic Director Elizabeth Newman and associate director Ben Occhipinti.

The Suncoast Credit Union Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) is proud to announce the dynamic 2018 Feature Film Competition Lineup. The festival includes 35 U.S., international and documentary features, as well as other programming, to kick-off its 12th festival season. Forum will continue the theatre's 2018 Mega-Mini Season, running March 23rd - May 19th.

After a successful run this past summer, 'Always, Patsy Cline' returns to The Media Theatre March 15 to April 1. Featuring Broadway's Jenny Lee Stern as the legendary country singer, the hit show has performances on Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm.

According to the New York Times, Tony and Emmy Award-winning star of the stage and screen, Nanette Fabray passed away yesterday at her California home. She was 97 years old.

Musicals Tonight!'s 20th Anniversary Spring Season opener of Rodgers and Hart's The Boys From Syracuse, begins performances Tuesday, February 13th at The Lion Theatre on Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street).  The comedy farce about mistaken identity, as adapted by George Abbott, will play a limited engagement through February 25th.  The Boys From Syracuse is directed and choreographed by Jonathan Cerullo who has given the musical a  fresh new take with men cast in almost all of the female roles for the very first time.  Tickets are $45 and can be purchased through www.telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200.

Yep Roc Records and the Southern Folklife Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Libraries announce the release of Doc Watson, Live at Club 47, set for a February 9 release on CD and digital, nearly 55 years to the date of the original recording. The LP release will follow April 27.

In Toho Stage's return engagement of Dogfight patrons may recognize several company members. All but three actors were part of the Japanese premiere in 2015 at Theater Crea in Chiyoda. Based on the 1991 Warner Brothers film written by Bob Comfort, the musical stays faithful to the screenplay. This current revival in three cities- Osaka, Tokyo, and Nagoya­- features the all-Japanese cast in a distinctly American story set in the backdrop of the Vietnam War.
