In its 2017-18 season, the Grammy-nominated self-conducted chamber music collective A Far Cry joins pianist Simone Dinnerstein to premiere a new concerto for piano and strings composed for Dinnerstein by Philip Glass. In celebration of the composer's 80th birthday, select premiere performances of the concerto, paired with J. S. Bach's Keyboard Concerto in G minor, will take place in Boston, MA; New London, CT; at the Miller Theatre at Columbia University, NY; in Worcester, MA; Palm Beach, FL; and at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto. A recording of the work for Glass' Orange Mountain Music label is scheduled for release in 2018.

Orchestra of St. Luke's continues its annual residency at Carnegie Hall this season with a wide variety of concerts in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage celebrating historic milestones, collaborating with notable guest soloists, presenting major masterworks of the classical orchestral repertoire, and premiering new works commissioned by Carnegie Hall. The Orchestra kicks off its residency on Thursday, October 12 at 8:00 p.m. with OSL's first Conductor Laureate Pablo Heras-Casado, who concludes his six-year tenure as Principal Conductor. For this special event, the orchestra performs Mozart's "Great" Mass, featuring sopranos Camilla Tilling and Susanna Phillips, tenor Thomas Cooley, bass-baritone Michael Sumuel, and the Westminster Symphonic Choir, led by Joe Miller. The program also includes Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 21.

Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment, announced key Marketing appointments today, including her new head of the department. Rebecca Daugherty will oversee the department and has been promoted to executive vice president, Marketing. In this position, Ms. Daugherty will be responsible for overseeing all marketing activities for ABC's primetime, daytime and late-night lineups, while establishing the tone and brand for the network. Her duties include oversight and strategic planning, creative development and implementation of all on-air and off-air marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns for all ABC Entertainment programming, including scripted and reality series, alternative, movies and specials. Patrick Moran, president, ABC Studios also announced that Ms. Daugherty will oversee ABC Studios' marketing efforts domestically and internationally for shows on ABC and other third party platforms including CBS, Freeform, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu and more.

Pear Theatre opens its 16th season with Sarah Ruhl's funny and insightful "In the Next Room, or, the Vibrator Play." Set at the dawn of the age of electricity, this comedy explores how women's issues are addressed in a patriarchal society that rarely gives them credence or consideration. "In the Next Room" is directed by Caroline Clark, and previews on September 7. Press and Opening Night is Friday, September 8, followed by a champagne gala.
