Cambridge Arts Theatre today announces a new UK tour of James Roose-Evans' adaptation of Helene Hanff's novel 84 Charing Cross Road, in collaboration with Lee Dean and Salisbury Playhouse. Richard Beecham directs Stefanie Powers as Helene Hanff and Clive Francis as Frank Doel. The production opens at Darlington Hippodrome today 23 May before touring to Wolverhampton, Malvern, Richmond, Oxford and finishing in Cambridge Arts Theatre on 30 June.

'On Golden Pond' is a 1979 play by Ernest Thompson. The plot focuses on aging couple Ethel and Norman Thayer, who spend each summer at their home on a lake called Golden Pond. During the year the story takes place, they are visited by daughter Chelsea with her fiance Bill Ray and his son Billy Ray Jr. The play explores the often turbulent relationship the young woman shared with her father growing up, and the difficulties faced by a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage. Palm Beach Dramaworks Producing Artistic Director William Hayes announced today that the 2017-2018 season will include two world premieres and three classic plays. The season gets underway at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre on Friday evening, October 20, with Lillian Hellman's masterpiece, The Little Foxes (1939), in which a greedy, merciless Southern family will stop at nothing to get what they want. Up next on December 8 is the premiere of Billy and Me by Terry Teachout (author of Satchmo at the Waldorf), a play that speculates on the tempestuous friendship between playwrights Tennessee Williams and William Inge.

Ghostlight Records has announced plans to record the first-ever cast album of the musical Kurt Vonnegut's God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, based on the recent production by the New York City Center's Encores! Off-Center musical theater series. 

The New Yorker Festival will present a Theatre for a New Audience production of a reading of the new two-character play About Alice that Calvin Trillin adapted from his memoir about his late wife, the educator Alice Stewart Trillin. About Alice, with Jessica Hecht as Alice and Tony Shalhoub as Calvin and directed by Leonard Foglia, will be heard one night only at the Directors Guild Theatre, 110 West 57th Street, Today, October 8, at 7:00pm.
