This summer, friends of Interlochen Center for the Arts around the world can enjoy two popular Interlochen Arts Camp traditions virtually. Young artists of Interlochen's first-ever virtual arts camp will present 'Collage,' a showcase of student artwork and performances, and 'Les Préludes,' the final camp concert, virtually on July 18 and 19.

Executive Director, L. Walter Stearns and partner, Business Manager Eugene Dizon announced today the permanent closure of Mercury Theater Chicago after ten years and 25 productions, due to the loss of revenue following the COVID-19 shutdown.

In June, choreographer Jody Sperling and her company Time Lapse Dance (TLD) offers three program-filled weeks, with such highlights as a Pride-month presentation on early performance technologist and visionary Queer artist Loie Fuller (June 11), the YouTube Premiere of the Fuller-inspired work Turbulence (June 18) followed by conversation on choreography and fluid dynamics with the physicist Larry Pratt, and a chance for audiences to drop into a Zoom rehearsal for a new work continuing Fuller's legacy into environmentalism (June 26).

The award-winning Amity Regional High School Theater Department, under the direction of Robert and Andrea Kennedy, is headed back to the roaring 20's with the musical comedy, The Drowsy Chaperone.

24th Street Theatre finds color in the lives of two orphan girls living in a silent film world of black, white and varying shades of gray. Debbie Devine directs the West Coast premiere of Kerry Muir's magical, surreal, dream-like movie-within-a play, The Night Buster Keaton Dreamed Me, for an April 11 opening. Performances will continue through May 31, with low-priced previews taking place March 28 through April 5.

Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, closes out its 10th Anniversary season with its first-ever three show repertory. From March 25-May 17, 2020 the company is presenting the Dreams and Madness Repertory. Each of these three plays explores the danger of love, the difference between dreams and madness, and the destructive power of authority and government. 

The doctor is in, as Theater J's 2018 hit production of Mark St. Germain's Becoming Dr. Ruth returns for a four week run before transferring to Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park where it plays for six weeks. Director Holly Twyford again joins forces with actor Naomi Jacobson to bring to life the story of renowned sex therapist and media personality Dr. Ruth Westheimer. Becoming Dr. Ruth runs March 27 - April 19, 2020, with press invited to Opening Night on Tuesday, March 31 at 7:30.

Now celebrating its 18th year, the annual production of THE MANOR has become a Los Angeles/Beverly Hills institution with several performances selling out even before tickets go on sale to the public. Bay Area Cabaret presents Tony, Grammy and Drama Desk nominee Max von Essen making his solo West Coast debut with award-winning composer, arranger, vocalist and jazz pianist Billy Stritch performing a?oeCall Me Old Fashioned: The American Standarda?? on Sunday, March 8 at 5:00 pm in the Venetian Room of the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. The duo recently completed a sold-out run at Birdland Jazz Club in New York and will also perform this standards-based show as part of Palm Springs' highly anticipated Cabaret 88 series.

The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers is pleased to exhibit the oil painting Two Peasant Women (1928-30) by Kazimir Malevich, a loan from the Moscow-based cultural project Encyclopedia of the Russian Avant-Garde, through May 17, 2020. The painting welcomes visitors at the entrance of the museum's George Riabov Gallery, which features Russian art created from the 14th century to the early 1950s.

Orlando was a deeply engaging, intriguing and thought-provoking exploration whose pondering, messages, striking soundscapes and visuals reverberated and lingered long after the curtain had closed. It is a highly ambitious undertaking but Neuwirth and her colleagues were up for the challenge. What is most exciting is what has now been established for a venue such as The Wiener Straatsoper as we move into a new decade of uncertain times when it is vital that radical expressions of art and activism combined are given such a grand stage with which to proclaim their truths.

The New York Pops performs the timeless music of Rodgers and Hammerstein on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. in Find Your Dream: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein joined by guest artists Laura Michelle Kelly and Max von Essen, as well as Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA. The concert spans all eleven of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic collaborations, including 'People Will Say We're in Love' from Oklahoma!, 'You'll Never Walk Alone' from Carousel, 'Some Enchanted Evening' from South Pacific, 'I Have Dreamed' from The King and I, and 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain' from The Sound of Music.

Alcina is a Baroque masterpiece by George Frideric Handel. The title character, Alcina, is a malicious sorceress who lives on an enchanted island with her sister Morgana. Alcina uses her magic spells to trick men into falling in love with her. But once she tires of them, she turns them into animals or inanimate objects.
