Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation and its Community Grant program. The grant will be used to assist funding the organization's Musical Interactive program, which will allow Lyric to increase services to students in rural Oklahoma.

Trinity Rep closes out its 2017-18 Season with the Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime, which was written by Terrence McNally (book), Stephen Flaherty (music), and Lynn Ahrens (lyrics). Under the direction of Artistic Director Curt Columbus, Trinity Rep's production examines how the musical, which is set in 1906, reflects the country's current political and social climate. Based on the celebrated 1975 novel of the same name by E.L. Doctorow, the musical tackles race, women's rights, immigration, and workers' rights. Ragtime runs April 26 - May 27 in Trinity Rep's Elizabeth and Malcom Chace Theater, with press opening on Monday, April 30 at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $25. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) today proudly announced that Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes, stars of television, film and stage and Sid and Marty Krofft, two legendary television producers, will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards this year during the Daytime Emmy® Awards.  The Krofft Brothers will be celebrated at the 45th Daytime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards which will take place on Friday, April 27th, 2018, while Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes will be celebrated on Sunday, April 29th, 2018 at the 45th Daytime Emmy® Awards.  Both presentations will take place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Southern California.

Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue, will present its 43rd annual Thunderbird American Dancers Dance Concert and Pow Wow from February 2 to 11, 2018. There will be dances, stories and traditional music from Native Peoples of the Northeast, Southwest and Great Plains regions. The event has become a treasured New York tradition for celebrating our diversity by honoring the culture of our first Americans.

Tony Award-winning actress Beth Leavel has been announced as the headlining performer at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's 2017 Broadway Ball.

A lifelong advocate for the arts and social services will be recognized by Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma with its top honor at this fall's Broadway Ball. Mary Deane Streich will receive the John Kirkpatrick Award, named after Lyric's founder, during the organization's annual fundraiser on October 6.

To open their season, CityRep is currently presenting a show that provides a window into the life of the legendary singer and a chance to hear many of her most beloved songs, sung live on stage. While A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline does succeed in bringing to life those songs in quite spectacular fashion, the show as a whole is a mixed bag, an odd combination of disparate and at times frustrating elements that never really gel into a cohesive whole.
