Theatres have a way of becoming an artist's second home. It doesn't matter if you are a director, designer, actor, or volunteer the countless hours you invest and the close proximity in which you do your work often create friendships that last a lifetime. And each time you step back through those doors you feel like you're coming home. No one knows this to be true more than Joseph Leo Bwarie, whose current home away from home is the Garry Marshall Theatre in Toluca Lake. Bwarie has been connected with the theatre (known formerly as The Falcon) and the Marshall family for many years, and he recently stepped into a co-artistic directorship of the newly-rechristened theatre, along with another longtime Marshall associate, Dimitri Toscas.

Eye On The World: The Rise of Walter Cronkite and the Evening News will air in primetime on Friday, November 3 at 8:00pm ET, with an encore presentation on Monday, November 6 at 8:00pm ET.

November programming has been announced at City Winery Chicago. Highlights of the month include multi-night runs from Jazz vocalist (and Chicago transplant) Lizz Wright (Nov. 1-2), Herb Alpert of Tijuana Brass with his wife, Grammy-winning singer Lani Hall, (Nov. 6-7), and four shows over two days with saxophonist Kurt Elling (Nov. 25-26) plus a benefit for Merit School of Music with Nico Segal (previously known as Donnie Trumpet from the Chance the Rapper-affiliated band, The Social Experiment) and The JuJu Exchange (Nov. 28) and much more.

'It is very rewarding,' adds Neil Starkenberg, MSMT's Danny Zuko. Co-star Chelsea Williams, who plays Sandy to Starkenberg's Danny, continues the thought: 'Neil and I have had conversations about how we could do this show for a really long time. It is so much fun, and I think that must be obvious to the audience. The energy is so palpable that it is a special joy to work that hard every night. Everyone is having the time of his life!' These three actors together with principals Gerrianne Perez (Rizzo), Charis Leos (Miss Lynch), Costume Designer Travis M. In an especially lively and far-ranging conversation that highlighted not only the challenges but also the camaraderie of this ensemble, the panel and capacity audience explored the history, characters, and production process for MSMT's summer mega hit.

Performance Space 122 and New York Live Arts present the U.S. premiere of Jack Charles V The Crown by award-winning indigenous Australian actor, musician, and activist Jack Charles, who spent a significant portion of his 72 years homeless, an addict, a thief and a regular throughout the Australian prison system. These performances mark the U.S. debut of 'the grandfather of Indigenous theatre,' (The Guardian). After New York, Jack Charles V The Crown will run March 29-April 8 at Canada Stage in Toronto.

Roberta Peters, one of the most prominent American singers to achieve lasting fame and success in opera, has passed away at the age of 86.  Peters is noted for her 35-year association with the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York, among the longest such associations between a singer and a company in opera. She was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 1998.

In its ongoing mission to support meaningful causes through the arts, The Jerry Garcia Foundation will host a Holiday Concert at the HarmoniaYoga Arts Studio on December 16 th to benefit WhyHunger.
