In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the cult classic film Cruel Intentions, producers have announced the casting for the North American tour of the Off-Broadway smash hit CRUEL INTENTIONS: THE '90s MUSICAL. Following sold-out runs in Los Angeles and a critically acclaimed, sold-out run in New York City, the new musical will play Broadway In Chicago's Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut St) for a limited two week engagement April 2 14, 2019.

This past Saturday an impromptu performance at the Huntington Mall began with a shout known to all musical lovers: 'Pulitzer and Hearst, they think we're nothing' Are we nothing'?' To which an excited mob of newsies replied tenaciously, 'No!' Audiences were then treated to an impressive flash mob rendition of 'The World Will Know' during a lull in the Macy's Prom Fashion Event. After this commanding performance, there's no doubt in anybody's mind just how great First Stage Theatre Company's production of Newsies will be.

California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) students are sure to capture hearts with the impressive dance feats and Tony Award-winning music of this year's highly anticipated all-school musical, "Newsies." Bringing to life the rough-and-tumble world of New York City during the 1899 Newsboy Strike, the show tells an inspiring story of friendship, hope and strength in numbers. The family-friendly performance is co-sponsored by the Glendale Community College Visual and Performing Arts Division, and takes place at their Mainstage Theatre from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.

Pioneer Theatre Company continues the sixth season of Play-by-Play's New Play Reading Series with The Fifth Domain by playwright, Victor Lesniewski. The readings will take place at the Dumke Auditorium in the Utah Museum of Fine Arts Building on Friday, January 25 at 7:30PM and Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00PM and 7:30PM.
