During 2018, the Finborough Theatre celebrates 150 years of the Finborough Theatre's building - and its birthday also coincides with the 150th anniversary of the birth of French symbolist playwright Paul Claudel. As part of the #Finborough150 celebrations, the London premiere in English of Paul Claudel's Break of Noon (Partage de Midi) plays for six Sunday and Monday evenings and Tuesday matinees from Sunday, 27 May 2018 (Press Night: Monday, 28 May 2018 at 7.30pm).

On May 22 leading NYC arts education nonprofit Inside Broadway (Executive Director, Michael Presser) and the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera will present a special Creating the Magic program offering an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at Broadway featuring the Phantom Broadway cast & production crew. These exclusive 70-minute programs will be offered to over 2,500 NYC public school students at the Majestic Theatre on 5/22 at 11:00am and 2:00pm.

Now about to turn thirteen, La MaMa Moves! Dance Festival, the ever-evolving spring fling of dance that exuberantly commandeers the various theaters of La MaMa each year, takes on yet another challenge in 2018. This year's festival showcases nine artists who take the road less travelled, daring to speak out in new and forceful ways about issues that trouble and inspire them: race, gender, religion, exclusion, each using the body to voice concerns in ways words cannot. Eleven companies, nine performances, including five premieres are on the boards. New this year will be two offsite events: panel discussions about artists and cultural identity, and screenings of rarely-seen films. The 2018 festival runs May 10-June 3.

White Eagle Hall reopened on May 5th of 2017 as a fully restored concert hall and theater, changing the New Jersey/New York music scene and enhancing Jersey City's growing reputation as cultural destination.  To celebrate its first anniversary, the venue hosts a free concert featuring some of the best of New Jersey rock – Rye Coalition, Will Wood & the Tapeworms, Rock & Roll High Fives and Long Neck – on Saturday May 5th 2018.

Boston Ballet presents the coming-of-age fairytale The Sleeping Beauty by Marius Petipa with additional choreography by Sir Frederick Ashton. Hailed as one of the Company's trademark works, this quintessential production features soaring music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and sumptuous sets and costumes by Emmy Award-winning designer David Walker. The Sleeping Beauty runs May 11–19, 2018, at the Boston Opera House.

New York's beloved Dance Theatre of Harlem, under the artistic direction of Virginia Johnson, returns to NY City Center for its annual homecoming season tonight, April 4, the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with the annual Vision Gala, honoring dance legend Carmen de Lavallade and civil rights icon Xernona Clayton.

World-renowned opera singer and recitalist Stephanie Blythe will premiere her new cabaret act, 'The Tender Trap,' as a special benefit for The Mabel Mercer Foundation on Thursday evening, June 14th at Feinstein's / 54 Below. Ms. Blythe, acclaimed by The New York Times as 'a force of nature,' will celebrate 'love, obsession, and the stuff in between,' in a repertoire selected from the Great Popular Songbook of the 1910s, 1920s, and 1930s - a golden age for the melodies and lyrics of Tin Pan Alley, Broadway, and (eventually) Hollywood.

As White Eagle Hall approaches its one year anniversary on May 5th, things are really ramping up for the venue. David Robertson will conduct the New York Philharmonic in Vaughan Williams's Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and Saint-Saëns's Symphony No. 3, Organ, with Philharmonic organist Kent Tritle, at the 27th Annual Free Memorial Day Concert, Monday, May 28, 2018, at 8:00 p.m. at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the performance; ticket distribution will begin at 6:00 p.m. The audio of the performance will be broadcast onto the adjacent Pulpit Green, weather permitting. The program will be presented without intermission.

The Inheritance, Matthew Lopez's witty, brutal two-part epic exploring the lives of gay men in New York clocks in at just short of 7 hours in total, but if you do go and see it, you're (mostly) in for a theatrical treat.

ArtsEmerson, Boston's leading presenter of contemporary world theatre, proudly welcomes the return of Step Afrika! with The Migration: Reflections on Jacob Lawrence. Combining South African Gumboot, Western African dance, vocals, drumming, visual art and audience participation, The Migration begins in Africa and chronicles the epic, historical movement of thousands of African Americans in the US from the rural south to the industrial cities of the north between 1910-1930. While GOD OF VENGEANCE may currently be better known as the subject of the 2017 Tony Award nominated Paula Vogel play, Indecent, as anyone who attended Head Trick Theatre's production of the show at AS220's Black Box Theatre could attest, it is a fascinating piece of theatre in its own right.

Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today the names of the six composer and librettist teams whose unpublished works have been selected for the company's sixth annual, critically-acclaimed new works series, Frontiers - funded in part by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Held during the final week of the 2018 FWOpera Festival, these selected pieces will be presented in two separate showcases of three works each on Wednesday, May 2 from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, and Thursday, May 3 from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, on the stage of Bass Performance Hall. Featuring 20-minute excerpts of each selected piece, these brand-new operas will be sung by artists from the 2018 FWOpera Festival with piano accompaniment.

California Symphony presents two performances of MOZART REQUIEM at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek on Saturday March 17th at 8pm and Sunday March 18th at 4pm. Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) continues its Spring 2018 Music Series on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 7:30pm with a presentation of Olivier Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time conceived and directed by Sarah Rothenberg with lighting designed by Jennifer Tipton, performed in BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater. An all-star ensemble of instrumentalists - Joshua Rubin, clarinet; Geoff Nuttall, violin; Christopher Costanza, cello; and Sarah Rothenberg, piano - bring to life this timeless work, which Messiaen wrote and premiered in 1941 while in confinement at a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany during World War II.
