ArtsEmerson, Boston's leading presenter of contemporary world theatre, proudly welcomes the return of Step Afrika! with The Migration: Reflections on Jacob Lawrence. Combining South African Gumboot, Western African dance, vocals, drumming, visual art and audience participation, The Migration begins in Africa and chronicles the epic, historical movement of thousands of African Americans in the US from the rural south to the industrial cities of the north between 1910-1930. While GOD OF VENGEANCE may currently be better known as the subject of the 2017 Tony Award nominated Paula Vogel play, Indecent, as anyone who attended Head Trick Theatre's production of the show at AS220's Black Box Theatre could attest, it is a fascinating piece of theatre in its own right.

Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today the names of the six composer and librettist teams whose unpublished works have been selected for the company's sixth annual, critically-acclaimed new works series, Frontiers - funded in part by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Held during the final week of the 2018 FWOpera Festival, these selected pieces will be presented in two separate showcases of three works each on Wednesday, May 2 from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, and Thursday, May 3 from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, on the stage of Bass Performance Hall. Featuring 20-minute excerpts of each selected piece, these brand-new operas will be sung by artists from the 2018 FWOpera Festival with piano accompaniment.

An all-star ensemble of instrumentalists - Joshua Rubin, clarinet; Geoff Nuttall, violin; Christopher Costanza, cello; and Sarah Rothenberg, piano - bring to life this timeless work, which Messiaen wrote and premiered in 1941 while in confinement at a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany during World War II.

Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) presents Hamlet by Bedlam a now famous stripped-down version of Shakespeare's classic tragedy at White Eagle Hall, February 8-10. Hamlet by Bedlam is JCTC's first full theatre production at the restored, historic theater which reopened last year.

Having been expelled from the Royal Navy College for stealing a five-shilling postal order, young cadet Ronnie Winslow's entire family are pulled apart by the repercussions of this charge. Set against the values of 1910 Edwardian London, the Winslow family fight to clear his name or face social ostracism as the case becomes a national scandal. Based on a real-life event, The Winslow Boy is a courageous and often delicately humorous window into the class and political hypocrisy of the time. This highly-charged moral drama will have audiences gripped by the heart-tugging decisions faced by each of The Winslow Family. Where will their sacrifices leave them and what is really at stake?

Axis Company presents High Noon, an adaptation of the screenplay for the 1952 Western film, devised by an ensemble led by Artistic Director Randy Sharp. In Axis' High Noon, the Wild West is not the place of heroes and rollicking adventure, but a landscape of overbearing nothingness where humans, and their troubled moral compasses, are cast in glaring light. As a town awaits the alleged return, and potential revenge streak, of a released murderer on an incoming train, their just-married, retiring marshal decides to try to rally a crowd to fight him.

Formed in 2006, the Felice Brothers are a Hudson Valley, New York-based folk rock ensemble hailed by the AV Club for a sound at once timeless, yet tossed-off. The band started husking in the subways, and went from playing subway stations and Brooklyn Apartments to high-profile gigs, such as Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble in Woodstock, and festivals, including: Mountain Jam, Clearwater Festival, Bonnaroo, Philadelphia Folk Festival and the All Points West Music & Arts Festival.
