Gurney (also known for Love Letters and The Dining Room), the plot follows what happens after a man going through a midlife crisis finds a dog in Central Park and brings her home without consulting his wife.

The Brevard Symphony Orchestra concludes its 2016-17 season on April 1st at the King Center for the Performing Arts with a musical tribute to three of the biggest names in symphonic music: Bach, Beethoven and Brahms. Living legend and international concert violinist Elmar Oliveira returns to the King Center stage for a performance of Beethoven's epic Violin Concerto. The program concludes with the power and grandeur of the magnificent Symphony No. 4 of Johannes Brahms. This performance, under the baton of Maestro Christopher Confessore, begins at 8:00pm.

Casting has been announced for The Liar, David Ives's "translaptation" of Pierre Corneille's 1643 farce of the same name, according to Ed Rutherford, the Promethean Theatre Ensemble artistic associate who is directing the production. The title character, Dorante, a charming young man who cannot tell the truth, will be played by Josh Hambrock. Dorante's love interest Clarice (who he believes to be named Lucrece, the name of her friend who will be played by Katherine Schwartz) will be played by ensemble member Meghann Tabor.

As relevant today as it was when it debuted in 1937, 'The Cradle Will Rock' electrifies the Tansill Theater stage at Connecticut College, with performances Friday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m, Saturday, March 4, at 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 5, at 2 p.m. The infamous musical, a biting critique of unrestrained capitalism and income inequality, features musical styles that leap from classical to jazz to pop and capture a story as satirical as it is uplifting and empowering.

PSO Music Director Robert Moody completes his tenth and final season in 2017-18 with five thrilling, capstone classical programs and the Magic of Christmas. Ken-David Masur, Daniel Meyer, Alexander Mickelthwate and Eckart Preu join the season as music director finalists, each conducting one classical and one pops concert, giving Portland an opportunity to see each conductor on the podium twice at Merrill Auditorium.
