The name Roger Duvoisin is familiar to Zimmerli audiences: the museum's gallery dedicated to its collection of original children's book illustrations is named in his honor, more than half of that collection consists of Duvoisin's artwork, and numerous exhibitions have celebrated this beloved author and illustrator. Now, Mood Books: The Children's Stories of Alvin Tresselt and Roger Duvoisin delves into one of the most important aspects of his career, a partnership with author Alvin Tresselt that spanned three decades and resulted in 18 books. The exhibition, opening March 14 at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers, features more than 30 original watercolor and gouache illustrations from four of their collaborations: White Snow, Bright Snow, Hide and Seek Fog, It's Time Now!, and What Did You Leave Behind?, all published by Lothrop, Lee & Shepard in New York. The images capture an array of feelings evoked by common experiences that tend to stick with us throughout life in very uncommon ways.

For the first time in over 40 years, the British Museum is to mount a major display of its collection of French prints, one of the best collections of its kind in the world. Nearly 80 important works by artists including Manet, Degas, Cézanne, Gauguin and Toulouse-Lautrec will go on show in the exhibition French Impressions: Prints from Manet to Cézanne, which opens next week. Covering the last four decades of the 19th century, the exhibition provides an opportunity to view rarely seen artworks by some of France's most famous artists.

Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA) presents Building a Feminist Archive: Cuban Women Photographers in the US; an exhibition that features ten women artists whose works in photography provide a glimpse into diverse histories of migration, community, activism and resistance. From 1978 - 2012 at Immaculate High School, Somerville, NJ, he taught English, Drama and Creative Writing.

Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) is pleased to announce ceramicist James C. Watkins as the recipient of its Texas Master Award. From Lubbock, Texas, Watkins joins the roster of former Texas Mastersa?"curator Clint Willour (Houston) and artists Harlan Butt (Denton), Cindy Hickok (Houston), Rachelle Thiewes (El Paso), Piero Fenci (Nacogdoches), and Sandie Zilker (Houston)a?"recognized for making a significant impact on the field of craft.  In recognition of his ceramic career and outstanding service to the community, HCCC will present a solo exhibition of Watkins' work in the fall of 2020.

The iconic punk rock band, X, have announced their annual Holiday tour plans. Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake are hitting the West Coast for X-Mas '19, their annual holiday tour with stops in San Juan Capistrano, Sacramento, Sonoma, San Francisco, Seattle and finishing up on December 19 & 20 for their hometown Los Angeles finale shows. The Blasters will join X on all shows except Sonoma and Seattle.  X will also appear at the Wonderfront Festival in San Diego on November 24th.  Tickets for X-Mas '19 will be on sale as of October 4th with a pre-sale beginning October 2nd (use code: DELTA88).
