The Yiddishkayt Initiative (YI) (Avi Hoffman, Producing Artistic Director) and Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Artistic Director) have announced the full lineup of events for the inaugural YI Love New York YiddishFest. This selection of performances, screenings, and discussions centered around Jewish culture and Yiddish entertainment will play several New York City venues from December 21-29. Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA) presents Building a Feminist Archive: Cuban Women Photographers in the US; an exhibition that features ten women artists whose works in photography provide a glimpse into diverse histories of migration, community, activism and resistance. The work will be on view in the Central and East Galleries from November 20 through December 21, 2019. Free Opening reception is December 6 from 6 pm to 10 pm during Old Town Untapped. Luigi is a contemporary American comedic playwright. A native of New Jersey, Jannuzzi attended Bound Brook High School, Raritan Valley Community College, Salem University, WV & The University of Notre Dame, where he received a Master's Degree. From 1978 - 2012 at Immaculate High School, Somerville, NJ, he taught English, Drama and Creative Writing.

Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) is pleased to announce ceramicist James C. Watkins as the recipient of its Texas Master Award. From Lubbock, Texas, Watkins joins the roster of former Texas Mastersa?"curator Clint Willour (Houston) and artists Harlan Butt (Denton), Cindy Hickok (Houston), Rachelle Thiewes (El Paso), Piero Fenci (Nacogdoches), and Sandie Zilker (Houston)a?"recognized for making a significant impact on the field of craft.  In recognition of his ceramic career and outstanding service to the community, HCCC will present a solo exhibition of Watkins' work in the fall of 2020. 

The Kitchen presents Lauren Bakst: after summer, or not in the kitchen (the bed, the bathroom, the dance floor and other spaces), performances developed across a residency through The Kitchen at Queenslab. Lessons from encounters; a love story between desire and abjection; movement that emerges from contact: after summer is a map of and for an everyday erotics. Curated by Matthew Lyons.

The iconic punk rock band, X, have announced their annual Holiday tour plans. Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake are hitting the West Coast for X-Mas '19, their annual holiday tour with stops in San Juan Capistrano, Sacramento, Sonoma, San Francisco, Seattle and finishing up on December 19 & 20 for their hometown Los Angeles finale shows. The Blasters will join X on all shows except Sonoma and Seattle.  X will also appear at the Wonderfront Festival in San Diego on November 24th.  Tickets for X-Mas '19 will be on sale as of October 4th with a pre-sale beginning October 2nd (use code: DELTA88).

The 4th Annual Adirondack Film Festival, presented by the Adirondack Theatre Festival has announced its full slate of films and special guests.  This year's lineup includes more than 135 films shown in one weekend (October 17-20) across 6 screens in Downtown Glens Falls.  To open the festival, AFF will feature James Franco's PRETENDERS – shot entirely in Albany and the Capital Reigon.

The Jewish Museum presents Personas: George Segal's Abraham and Isaac, an installation of the life-sized plaster sculpture by American artist George Segal (American, 1924-2000), being shown at the Museum for the first time.

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others. The British Museum has one of the world's largest collections of objects and photographs from Solomon Islands - around 4,000 items - which have been acquired in a variety of ways over the past 250 years. A new display opening today, explores some of the colonial relationships which led to a number of these important objects arriving at the British Museum.

Today the Merce Cunningham Trust announces Summer & Fall 2019 programming for the worldwide Merce Cunningham Centennial, which unites artists, companies, and cultural and educational institutions in a celebration of Cunningham's vital impact. Launched in the fall of 2018 and continuing throughout all of 2019, the Centennial honors Cunningham's legacy across continents and artistic disciplines.
