The National Theatre has announced 15 productions of new plays and fresh adaptations by leading writers.

The Hill Country Community Theatre is thrilled to announce the cast for "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." Based on the popular 1988 film starring Steve Martin; the musical version follows the same hilarious storyline but adds a delightfully jazzy Tony Award nominated score by David Yazbek. "Scoundrels" was nominated for a staggering eleven Tony Awards in all after it opened on Broadway in 2005. The show makes its Cottonwood Shores debut July 18.

On Friday, June 21, Flushing Town Hall's Queens Jazz Orchestra will return to the stage to present new music by National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master, Dr. Jimmy Heath. 'It Ain't Over Yet' will span the corridors of Dr. Heath's musical and creative imagination, showing that jazz continues to be a vibrant musical force.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, is pleased to announce that casting is complete for the Los Angeles premiere of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's Good Boys starring Betsy Brandt (CBS' Life in Pieces, and AMC's Breaking Bad) as Elizabeth Hardy, and directed by Carolyn Cantor on the mainstage of Pasadena Playhouse.  BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) is proud to announce that film composer and celebrated jazz musician Terence Blanchard will be named a BMI Icon at the 35th annual BMI Film, TV & Visual Media Awards in recognition of his significant contributions to the cinematic community.  The ceremony will also honor award-winning composer, arranger, orchestrator and conductor William Ross with the BMI Classic Contribution Award, and salute the top performing composers in film, TV and visual media of the past year. Have you ever seen 30 plays in 60 minutes? 10 talented actors will attempt to dazzle audiences with this feat when the Purdon Studio Theatre, the 'black box' production arm of Grosse Pointe Theatre, will stage Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind by Greg Allen. The show will run for seven performances April 26 - 28 and May 3-4 (with two performances on May 4). Ron Hubbard Achievement Awards for Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contests in the genres of Science Fiction & Fantasy held at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood, CA on Friday evening, April 5, 2019.  A capacity crowd of 400 people attended the Black-Tie GALA. Presented by Author Services, Inc. and Galaxy Press, the theme for the two-hour awards show was Retro Robotics.
