On Friday, April 27th 2018, the Emerson String Quartet collaborated with celebrated Russian pianist Evgeny Kissin. The concert, presented at Carnegie Hall, featured Mr.Kissin in each work on the program.

Tippet Rise Art Center, set on a 10,260-acre working ranch at the foot of Montana's Beartooth Mountains, today announced the programs for its third concert season, comprising more than 25 recitals and chamber music concerts from July 6 through September 8, 2018. Bringing together an international roster of celebrated artists-some who have already made the art center one of their summer homes, others who will be marking their debuts at Tippet Rise, this third season will include extraordinary concentrations of masterworks by Johann Sebastian Bach and of varied and exciting compositions from the 20th and 21st centuries. Since coming to international attention after winning first prize at the ARD Music Competition in 2004, the Eb ne Quartet has been thrilling audiences and critics with their superb renditions of classical favorites and arrangements of popular and jazz works. What began as a distraction in university practice rooms has re sulted i n one of today's most praised classical ensembles, renowned for its unique style and fresh approach to the chamber repertoire. The Eb ne Quartet won the 2009 Gramophone Awards for both Recording of the Year and Chamber music. Quartet members includ e Pierre Colombet and Gabriel Le Magadure, violins; Marie Chilemme, viola; and Rapha l Merlin, violoncello.

Garth Fagan Dance has four premieres up its sleeve for its Joyce Theater engagement, November 7-12. Two of the new dances, In Conflict and Estrogen/Genius, are by Fagan, the Tony-winning choreographer of The Lion King; the other two premieres, Wecoo Duende and A Moderate Cease, are by the company's long-time dancer and Fagan muse Norwood Pennewell.

This October, Music Director Antonio Pappano makes his Carnegie Hall debut conducting the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in two concerts at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. On Friday, October 20 at 8:00 p.m., the Orchestra performs Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major, Op. 26 with Martha Argerich who returns to Carnegie Hall for the first time in nine years as well as the Sinfonia from Verdi's Aida and Resphigi's Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome. A pre-concert talk begins at 7:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage with Alain Frogley, Professor of Music History at the University of Connecticut.

The New York Philharmonic will present Bernstein's Philharmonic: A Centennial Festival, October 25-November 14, 2017,celebrating the former Philharmonic Music Director and Laureate Conductor on the centennial of his birth. The festival - which is part of the worldwide salute to the legacy of the renowned composer, conductor, pianist, and educator - will center on Bernstein's symphonic cycle, conducted by Alan Gilbert and Leonard Slatkin, complemented by other Bernstein works as well as by music by composers he admired and championed. In addition, the Philharmonic will present a Young People's Concert - the series that Bernstein famously brought to national attention through the television broadcasts - titled Inspirations and Tributes: "Celebrating Leonard Bernstein," conducted by Leonard Slatkin and featuring pianist Makoto Ozone on November 11. A number of other events - ranging from a marathon of Bernstein's Mahler recordings to a partnership with Harvard and University of Michigan to explore Bernstein as an educator and conductor - complement the concerts throughout the centennial season. Bernstein served as the Philharmonic's Music Director from 1958 to 1969, when he was named Laureate Conductor, a title he held until his death in 1990.

Third Street Music School Settlement will be presenting three students graduating this June as recipients of the New York Community Trust Harris Scholarship.  This year's scholars, Emma Peleg, 17, Hale Sheffield, 17, and Jennifer Loo, 17, will each receive $25,000 over four years towards their college expenses.  Entering college in fall 2017, the scholars have been accepted to schools such as Yale University, Princeton University, Duke University, SUNY Stony Brook, Binghamton University, The New School, New York University, CUNY Hunter, CUNY Baruch, Oberlin College, and Northeastern University.

Nearly a hundred years after Aline Barnsdall first envisioned an artist colony on Olive Hill in the middle of Hollywood, the public will have a rare opportunity to experience her dream come to life. Toys Productions, presents the Maria Irene Fornes play FEFU AND HER FRIENDS staged as an immersive theatrical event inside Hollyhock House.
