A behind the scenes look of Monumental Pictures was offered as the Arts Center of Cannon County's production of Singin' in the Rain brought audiences back to the golden age of Hollywood with a downpour of iconic songs and lively dancing. Directed by Broadway World's very own, Jeffrey Ellis, this show left audiences with a desire to stay and join in the dancing on the red carpet.

Producer Ken Davenport (Once on This Island, Spring Awakening) has obtained the Broadway stage rights to the life story of the great American singer, songwriter, actor and activist, Harry Belafonte.

Placido Domingo has announced the company's 2019/20 season. The season will include six mainstage operas, one musical, one recital and one concert presented at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, with additional performances presented in other venues through the company's Off Grand initiative.

Riverland is the new album from Eric Brace, Peter Cooper & Thomm Jutz on Nashville based Red Beet Records. It's a concept album, a daring thing in these days of shuffle modes and short attention. It's about Mississippi - both the big river and the troubled-but-beautiful state - though Brace is a Washington, D.C. guy, Cooper is from South Carolina, and Jutz grew up in Germany's Black Forest. On paper, it's a suspect idea. In song, it shines like a bright Natchez morning, and hurts like a lonesome Meridian motel room.

Katherine Wilkinson will replace the previously announced Julia Sears as director of Jacob Marx Rice's ROSENSTRASSE: A NARRATIVE PROTEST.

Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II touched off an earthquake in Musical Theater with their 1927 musicalized version of Edna Ferber's 'Show Boat.'  A new iteration of 'Show Boat' has shoved off from the dock inside the MTH Theater on the third level of Crown Center for what will be pleased audiences.

Directed by Darko Tresnjak, 'Anastasia' is not to be missed at Kennedy Center. A strong story with an equally strong cast to bring it to life, coupled with some great music by one of Broadway's best writing teams, makes it a sure bet.

First Person Arts (FPA) announces their 17th Annual First Person Arts Festival line-up with headliners:. The festival will take place from November 4-November 17 in various parts of the city, and features 11 different performances that highlight personal journeys, accounts of social activism and extreme adventure! The 2018 First Person Arts Festival is focused on overcoming. Dive into real, personal experiences that include: the challenges of life after incarceration, coming out (again and again and again), gathering the pieces and rebuilding your life after divorce, and many more stories of strength, determination, and the power of the human will. Misty Copeland will open the 61st annual Dance Magazine Awards. The evening will honor Ronald K. Brown, Lourdes Lopez(presented by Darren Walker), Crystal Pite, and Michael Trusnovec (presented by Patrick Corbin). A special Leadership Award will be presented to Nigel Redden. Since 1954 the Dance Magazine Awards have recognized outstanding men and women whose contributions have left a lasting impact on dance. This year's Awards will take place on Monday December 3, 2018 at The Ailey Citigroup Theater at 7:30pm.

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in downtown Pittsfield, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, presents the world premiere musical, The Royal Family of Broadway. Performances run through July 7 on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage (30 Union Street).

Folk and pop icon Gordon Lightfoot returns to the Capitol Center for the Arts (CCA) in Downtown Concord, NHon Friday, June 22, 2018 at 8PM. The artist is best known for hits like "If You Could Read My Mind", "Sundown", and "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts. The Center for Ballet and the Arts at New York University (CBA), the first international institute devoted to the creation and academic study of ballet, today announced the 27 artists and scholars who will serve as CBA Fellows in the 2018-19 academic year. The group - which represents The Center's largest and most far-reaching cohort yet - features distinguished individuals in a range of disciplines, including scholar Cecile Feza Bushidi, lighting designer Brandon Stirling Baker, choreographer Chase Brock, choreographer, filmmaker, and dancer Pontus Lidberg, and scholar Janice Ross, among others.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has today announced the shortlist for the 2018 BAFTA Student Film Awards. Following the international expansion of the Awards in 2017, this year's shortlisted 60 films have been selected from the 469 submissions by students at film schools in 35 countries across the world, including Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Egypt, Germany, India, Israel, Kenya, Lebanon, Russia, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

UCLA's Center for the Art of Performance (CAP UCLA) presents the return of New York-based SITI Company in the West Coast premiere of the theater is a blank page, a much-heralded collaboration with celebrated visual artist Ann Hamilton. The site-specific performance and interdisciplinary installation, which blends elements of theater, visual art and literature, will run from Saturday, April 28 to Saturday, May 12 at Royce Hall. Overture Center revealed its 2018/19 season, which features nearly 100 performances, including seven new-to-Overture-Hall Broadway titles and 23 new Overture Presents shows.

you are my sunshine - a new play with folk songs …based on a true story by Kelli Kerslake Colaco is a multi-decade (1927-1956) character study of a man of mythic American proportions whose passions and demons lead to tragedy. Narrated in Woody Guthrie-style folk songs - accompanied by Bay Area music favorites Chris Haugen (guitar) and Trevor Marcom (vocals/guitar), the fact-inspired ensemble drama focuses on the search for truth behind a dark family legend vis-a-vis an ancestor and the women and children in his life.
