A new documentary film will be released about blues musician Bobby Rush. Titled King of the Chitlin’ Circuit, the movie explores the life of the 92-year-old musician and his 70-plus-year career.

The Coolidge Corner Theatre ('the Coolidge') has announced the early lineup for its Winter / Early Spring 2023 Big Screen Classics series. 

Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical is coming to Chicago! The new musical celebrating the life, career, and unforgettable songs of trailblazing Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legend Lloyd Price will play the beautifully renovated Studebaker Theatre at the historic Fine Arts Building Performances will begin on May 31, 2023. 

Theatro Sao Pedro premieres the satirical ballet chante The Seven Deadly Sins, the last collaboration between Kurt Weil and Bertolt Brecht. The production will be musically directed by Ira Levin, who will command the Theatro Sao Pedro Orchestra. The Seven Deadly Sins opens on November 5th. In all, there will be 8 recitals until the 14th.

Jukebox Castle and Top New Orleans Chefs Offer a New Spin on the SEVEN DEADLY SINS

Revolutionizing the live musical theater experience, the acclaimed company For The Record makes its triumphant return to Los Angeles in a new production, For The Record: Scorsese - American Crime Requiem. This new show will bring the legendary filmmaker's soundtracks to life in a new generation cabaret from September 21 through October 16 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. For The Record: Scorsese - American Crime Requiem is co-produced by The Wallis and Ad Astra Live, and is made possible by the generous support of David C. Bohnett.

Mitchell S. Jackson is the Ernest J. Gaines Award Winner for 2014. Mr. Jackson, who won for his novel The Residue Years, will be honored at the Manship Theatre on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Find more information about the event HERE.
