Broadway In Chicago, Stageworks Media and Troika Entertainment present the National Touring production of CHEERS LIVE ON STAGE. Based on the best and most memorable moments from the Emmy Award-winning classic hit TV series, CHEERS LIVE ON STAGE plays the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. The Saint Sebastian Players (SSP) open the company's 36th season with Oliver! with music and lyrics by Lionel Bart. Performances run October 21-November 13 at St. Bonaventure, 1625 W. Diversey (enter on Marshfield), Chicago.

Hard to believe, but Kritzerland turned 6 on Sunday September 4 at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal. Bruce Kimmel and his record company Kritzerland began their series of concerts at the Gardenia for the first year, then moved to Vitello's with Michael Sterling and onto the Federal four years ago. Kimmel and Kritzerland are joined at the hip; it's his brainchild ... and he brings all of his ingenious theatricality and cleverness to each show. This anniversary show was over.the.moon great with terribly eclectic, funny numbers and some absolutely wonderful talent. On board were steadies Sharon McNight, Nick Santa Maria, Ilene Graff and hubbie Ben Lanzarone, Jenna Lea Rosen, Sami Staitman and special appearance by composer Richard M. Sherman. Newcomers Marc Ginsburg, Reagan Pasternak and little Hayley Shukiar joined 'Guy Haines' for a heartfelt and laugh-filled concert. Wonderful Richard Allen served as musical director and accompanist for most of the songs throughout the 90-minute set.

Arkansas Repertory Theatre announced today that John Miller-Stephany has been named the theatre's new Producing Artistic Director. He assumes his new role in mid-October. The announcement by Board Chair Brian Bush ends an extensive national search.

It's a classic fairy-tale. Boy meets Girl. Girl likes Boy. Girl has abusive boyfriend who thrives on orthodontic agony. Boy has abusive plant who thrives on human blood. Boy feeds boyfriend to plant and becomes world famous. Yeah, in hindsight, it's not exactly your classic fairy-tale.

"Little Shop of Horrors" is one of the most popular musicals of all time-the show debuted off-Broadway in 1982 and ran for five years, was made into a popular and memorable film (starring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin) in 1986, premiered on Broadway in 2003, and has received thousands of professional and amateur productions over the past 35 years. The Sierra Stages production is directed by Robert Rossman, with musical direction by Ken Getz. The set and lighting design is by Erin Beatie and costume design is by Jill Kelly. The cast includes Nevada County actors Jay Barker, Audrey Delgado, Nancy Haffey, Jackie Kolenko, JR Lewis, Ken Miele, Tracy Nickle, Conor Nolan, and Kim Wellman.
