California Shakespeare Theater closes its 2019 summer season with Macbeth by William Shakespeare and directed by Victor Malana Maog playing September 18 through October 13, 2019 at the Bruns Amphitheater. 

Michelle Collins will star as Marion in the first major revival of Chloë Moss's play HOW LOVE IS SPELT, which opens at Southwark Playhouse on Wednesday 4th September and runs until Saturday 28th September, with a national press night on Friday 6th September.

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others. Huntington Theatre Company announced today that tickets to The Purists are now on sale to the general public. The world premiere play, directed by Tony and Grammy Award winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots, 'Pose' on FX), will begin performances at the South EndCalderwood Pavilion at the BCA (527 Tremont St., Boston) on Friday, August 30, 2019 and will run through Sunday, September 29, 2019.

Compagnia de' Colombari, an international collective of performing artists founded and directed by Karin Coonrod, presents More Or Less I Am: a music-theater piece drawn entirely from Walt Whitman's revolutionary free verse long poem, 'Song of Myself,'one of the original twelve pieces that comprise his 1855 collection Leaves of Grass. The fun of an evening such as this week's 'Michael Kahn & Friends, Off the Record: The Lansburgh Years, 1992-2007' derives from the relaxed, unscripted content provided by those who usually offer scripts to an audience. The three actors and one former administrative colleague who joined Kahn at the Harman Wednesday to visit memory lane required little prompting by moderator Tom Story to recall and reminisce about their work with the Shakespeare Theatre Company during the Lansburgh Years. Once Story asked each to remember his/her first meeting with Michael Kahn, a series of photos of past productions drove the evening of anecdotes.

San Diego Repertory Theatre announced today the cast and creative team for the fourth production in their 43rd season, Julia Cho's Aubergine. Directed by San Diego REP Associate Artistic Director Todd Salovey, Aubergine is an unforgettable story of love, family and the healing power of food. Performances run January 24 - February 17, 2019, in the Lyceum Space Theatre. Tickets start at $25 and are currently on sale to the general public. Previews are January 24 - 29, 2019. Press opening is Wednesday, January 30 at 7:00 p.m. 

According to the New York Times, Tony winner Philip Bosco passed away yesterday, December 3, 2018, in his New Jersey home from complications of dementia. He was 88 years old.
