TheaterWorks announced final casting today for RAGING SKILLET by Jacques Lamarre the 5th show of TheaterWorks 31st Season.

The concept, a collaboration between Komische Oper Berlin and London-based performance group 1927, (Suzanne Andrade and Paul Barritt), was utterly unique, and Cincinnati Opera's production values were top notch.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley kicks off its 48th season with the World Premiere of The Four Immigrants: An American Musical Manga. Drawn from one of the first ever graphic novels, set to an infectious ragtime and vaudeville score by local composer/lyricist Min Kahng, the comic musical follows four Japanese immigrants in a world of possibility and prejudice: turn-of-the-twentieth-century San Francisco. From a tumultuous earthquake to an exhilarating World's Fair, the quartet pursues the American Dream, despite limited options in the land of opportunity. Directed by TheatreWorks Associate Artistic Director Leslie Martinson, and developed at TheatreWorks' 2016 New Works Festival, the World Premiere ofThe Four Immigrants: An American Musical Manga will be presented July 12-August 6, 2017 (press opening: July 15) at Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. Today, The 24 Hour Musicals: Los Angeles announced that composer/lyricist Jesse Eisenberg (The Spoils), singer/songwriter Nellie McKay, Alex Newell (Glee), Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood, Daredevil), Ashley Fink (Glee), and Amanda Seales (Insecure) will join the star-studded line-up of talent participating in the first ever Los Angeles presentation of The 24 Hour Musicals, a one-night-only performance at the United Artists Theater at Ace Hotel on Monday, July 17.

Grants totalling more than £11 million for arts projects across the county have been welcomed by Kent County Council. The money comes from Arts Council England through its National Portfolio, which covers the next four years.

Hologram USA Networks Inc.  today announced a partnership with Chicago's historic Avalon Regal Theater to install its patented hologram technology on a permanent basis, allowing live artists to be "beamed" in by telepresence, and for performances by Hologram USA's recreated stars from the past.  The Avalon Regal and the Hologram USA theater in Los Angeles, will be the first full time dedicated hologram theaters in the United States, and their launch kicks off a campaign to build and install 100 theaters nationwide. The network of theaters will be supported by Hologram USA Networks and the FilmOn TV and FOTV Media Group.

From June 9 to 25, La MaMa and Yara Arts Group will present '1917-2017 Tychyna, Zhadan & the Dogs,' a new theatre piece with poetry which examines what individuals do when a society crumbles.
