After 14 years performing together, five full-length studio albums, and countless sold-out shows around the globe, there aren't many items left on a band's bucket list. For Alter Bridge, one of the remaining list items was crossed off in October 2017 when the band performed two sold-out shows at London's iconic Royal Albert Hall backed by the 52-piece Parallax Orchestra led by conductor Simon Dobson. Those career-defining shows were captured and combined in the upcoming Napalm Records worldwide release Live At The Royal Albert Hall on September 7th.

Dawsondancesf and Richard Howell have announced their newest collaboration will take place August 24-25 at the YBCA Theater in San Francisco. Borrowing from the title of Howell's just-released jazz album, Coming of Age-MANGAKU, the program will feature the world premiere of MANGAKU, a work for nine dancers with live musical accompaniment from Howell and guest artists. Rounding out the program is Floating in Mid Air, dawsondancesf and Howell's last collaboration, which received its premiere at San Francisco's Bayview Opera House earlier this year. New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of providing an outstanding music education and performance opportunities to students between the ages of 12-22 by launching a new Musical Theater Composition program aimed at diversifying the world of musical theater. On April 26 Jazz at the Spring invites you on a sonic joyride with Ornettiquette a stellar band formed by trumpeter Chris Pasin to honor the music of Ornette Coleman, one of the most powerful and creative innovators in the history of jazz. During his career Ornette Coleman, who in 2007 won the Pulitzer Prize for his album "Sound Grammar," overturned the structure of be-bop. Be-bop is a style of jazz which uses the architecture of an underlying tune from the American Songbook as the structure for wide ranging improvised solos. Coleman's idea was to explore melody and do away with the idea of a fixed series of chords. He didn't do away with harmony, but rather created melodies with amazing harmonic implications as the platform for improvisation. Coleman broke through style and structure to seek sound.
