The American Theatre Guild will present the South Bend engagement of AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN. This production is part of the BROADWAY IS BACK IN SOUTH BEND SERIES and will take the Morris Performing Arts Center stage June 3–5, 2022.

Craft Recordings announces today's release of Nursery Rhymes for Kinder Times, a brand-new album from the world-renowned children's entertainer, Raffi, and the award-winning singer and songwriter, Lindsay Munroe.

FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, will present the cast of the North American Tour of An Officer and a Gentleman in “An Officer and a Showcase” on Tuesday, May 24 at 7:00PM. 

Next up at The Wallis, a radical reinvention of Shakespeare’s King Lear, starring Joe Morton in the titular role opens May 14, 2022 (with previews beginning May 10th). John Gould Rubin directs the cast which also includes Mark Harelik, River Gallo, Zach Solomon, Brie Eley, Emily Swallow, Rafael Jordan, Miguel Perez, Stanley Jackson, and Danielle Thorpe. John was most gracious to carve out some time of his full creative schedule to answer a few of my queries.

The ability to totally transform yourself into the physical, emotional and intellectual persona of another person so believably that audience members will see the character and not the actor is one of the most fascinating elements of live theatre to me. This is especially true for actors I follow, seeing them in several productions and always being surprised at the new person presented in front of me, often having nothing in common with the real personality of the actor. One such actor is Ron Bottitta, an English-born actor who has called the USA his home since 1980, who I spoke with about his characters in WAKINGS! at the Odyssey Theatre,

Yale Repertory Theatre has announced its 2022–23 season of four plays. The season will begin with Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, running October 6–29. James Bundy, who directed Albee’s A Delicate Balance at Yale Rep in 2010, will stage this new production of the explosively comedic and harrowingly profound masterpiece. 

A Message from Circle Jerks: We had hoped it wouldn’t come to this, but our fearless singer, our dude, Keith Morris, is headed home to rest for 10 days as he recovers from COVID-19. The Green Room 42 has announced their April line-up for in-person performances. Located inside YOTEL Times Square (570 Tenth Avenue, Fourth Floor), The Green Room 42 is Broadway's newest and most spacious cabaret club.

The smile in question is that of Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Ann Talman's close friend for (almost) all of her life, and her stage mother in THE LITTLE FOXES, and these are their tales.

It's a fan-favorite and it's back at the Orpheum Theatre Memphis! Cats is the 4th longest-running Broadway show, coming in behind The Lion King, and is a sung-through musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The musical opened at the Orpheum Theatre on Webber's birthday and continues to dazzle audiences with fun costumes, incredible dancing and acrobatics, and some pretty meow-tiful music ( get ready for a whole lot of cat puns ;)

After much consideration and discussion, Los Altos Stage Company and Los Altos Youth Theatre have shifted their programming for the remainder of their seasons back by approximately a month and have decreased the total number of performances for each production. 

Eric Bogosian has been cast in Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire as “Daniel Molloy,” a journalist nearing the end of his career who’s given a second chance at the interview of a lifetime. Based on Anne Rice’s novel, the series follows Louis de Pointe, Lestat De Lioncourt and Claudia’s epic story of love, blood and the perils of immortality.

All For One Theater will present The Gift Project, created, performed and music composed by Diana Oh ({my lingerie play}, The Infinite Love Party, My H8 Letter to the Gr8 American Theatre, Clairvoyance), and directed by Oh and Cotz at Symphony Space’s Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater.

PNC Broadway in Kansas City will present the engagement of AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN. Based on the Oscar-winning film, this production will take the Kauffman Center stage April 12–17, 2022.

As the title suggests, this imaginative collection of songs offers a fresh, whimsical, and tender take on classic nursery rhymes, including “Three Blind Mice” (re-imagined as “Three Kind Mice”), “Ring Around the Rosie” (“Ring Around Sweet Roses”), and “London Bridge Is Falling Down” (“London Rain Is Falling Down”).

AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, a new musical based on the Oscar-winning film and original screenplay by Douglas Day Stewart, is set to perform at the Van Wezel on Wednesday, Apr. 6 at 7:30 p.m., and Thursday, Apr. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.
