TUTS Underground, in association with Third Coast Creative, presents LMNOP - A New Muzical, April 7 - 19 in Zilkha Hall at The Hobby Center. Chaos arises when letters begin to fall from a town monument and government officials ban them one by one. The community depends on the strength of a determined teenage girl to fight for their freedom of speech. This unique musical is part romance, part clever word game and part adult fable that reminds us of how precious our liberties are and how important it is to have the courage to stand up for what we believe.

Consider yourself warned: spoilers abound in this little preview! Probably best not to read this until you've seen Part One.
If you watched last night's premiere BETTER CALL SAUL episode, then you, too, are probably experiencing a ridiculous level of excitement about tonight's Part Two. Part one was choc-full-of twists and turns: Cinnabon Saul (that's my new nickname for our friend's post-BREAKING BAD self)! Mike Ehrmantraut! A conniving rival lawyer! High-speed freeway chases! Mistaken identities! And TUCO!

Full disclosure, I was completely ready to despise everything about the remake of ANNIE starring Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhane Wallis. In fact, I had already written the lede in my head, and let me tell you, it was scathing. But, then I saw the movie, and was pleasantly surprised by how not completely horrible it was. Yes, it will probably still rank as one of the worst big screen musical adaptations of the past decade; just above the disastrous NINE; but there was plenty to appreciate for musical theatre lovers young and old.

Ho, ho, ho and Hallelujah! The Gold Dust Orphans are back in Boston with an all-new holiday joyride, exclaiming JESUS CHRIST, IT'S CHRISTMAS! Based on the 1947 classic film THE BISHOP'S WIFE, Ryan Landry's sendup of the romantic comedy is overflowing with winking biblical references and musical numbers that make the season merry. Put tickets for this in your stocking, but do not bring the kids!

Jobs are very important. You need to make sure you're trained correctly while doing your job to the best of your ability, and taking every precaution that an evil, magic-sucking witch doesn't come wandering into your place of employment demanding Zima. It's even worse when said witch is your brother and probably wants to murder you a ton. Tonight's episode of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, entitled 'I Alone,' included a death, a family reunion, and a case of really bad ID checking.

Mustard Seed Theatre has brought back their popular staging of ALL IS CALM - THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE OF 1914, which premiered around this time last year, and it's definitely a piece of theatre that demands your time and attention. Somehow I must have missed mentioning this the first time around, but this was originally a broadcast that occurred on Minnesota Public Radio. Artistic director/director Deanna Jent took that raw material and molded it into a moving and compelling stage production that won deserved accolades and awards for its excellence. If you didn't catch it last year, then you need to make sure you do so during its current run, and even if you did see it, I can promise you that it's certainly worth seeing again.
