The exuberant cast of BYE BYE BIRDIE will 'spread sunshine all over the place' in this summertime sensation directed by Jenn Thompson. Centenary College Theater Department's Nextstage Repertory presents Into the Woods April 28 through May 8 in the Sitnik Theater of the Lackland Performing Arts Center.  Into the Woods was created by Stephen Sondheim and writer James Lapine and it originally premiered in 1987 on Broadway.  The musical is set in an alternate world of four of The Grimm's fairy tales.  Into the Woods tells the tale of a childless baker and his wife who are desperate to have a baby.  They attempt to lift the curse that has been placed on the Baker's side of the family by a witch because his father stole magic beans.  Along the way they encounter Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk.  Each one of the characters have a desperate desire that they will do anything to achieve, but when wishes don't go the way they thought they would, the characters realize something that had never occurred to them before; that maybe wishes aren't always what they appear to be.

?   Centenary Stage Company celebrates the artistry of dance in the Lackland Center with the ever - popular annual Dance Fest.  This year's Dance Fest will feature Moe-tion Dance Theater on Thursday, March 31 at 7:30pm, a double feature with 10 Hairy Legs on Saturday, April 2 at2pm and 8pm and, finally, Nimbus Dance Works on Sunday, April 3 at 5pm.  All performances will be held in the Sitnik Theatre of Centenary Stage Company's Lackland Center.

No other collaborative partnership in the New York area brings together an esteemed Ivy League MFA program with a Tony Award- winning not-for-profit theatre. The initiative is made possible by a grant from the Tow Foundation.
