Centenary Stage Company wraps up its first ever Fringe Festival with Southeast Ohio - based Brick Monkey Theater Ensemble's production of Tammy Faye's Final Audition running November 19 through the 22 in the Lackland Center in Hackettstown, NJ.  Written by Merri Biechler, directed by Dennis Delaney and performed by Shelley Delaney and David Haugen, Tammy Faye's Final Audition has become a festival favorite having had critically acclaimed runs at several premiere Fringe Festivals throughout the country.

WAM Theatre's HOLY LAUGHTER Opens 11/1

 Previews for WAM Theatre's mainstage production of Holy Laughter by Catherine Trieshmann start on Thursday, October 29 and run through Saturday, October 31 at 7:30 pm at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center at 36 Linden Street in Pittsfield. Tickets for preview performances are just $18. This developmental workshop production officially opens at the 2 pm performance on Sunday, November 1, and continues performances Fridays at 7:30 pm, Saturdays at 2 & 7:30 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm through November 22. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up.

Centenary Stage Company celebrates the spooky season in grand fashion with a Halloween Bonanza to accompany Brad Ross' Unbelievable! on Saturday October 31 at 2pm in the Lackland Center in Hackettstown, NJ. Show off your inner ghoul or goblin and come dressed in your Halloween best. Centenary Stage Company will be holding a costume contest in the lobby of the Lackland Center. One lucky participant will win a pair of tickets to Centenary Stage Company's family holiday spectacular A Christmas Carol: The Musical running November 27 through December 13. Centenary Stage Company will also be holding an 'enter to win' raffle for a pair of tickets to the Young Audience Series production of Miss Nelson is Missing. Los Angeles playwright Jennifer Haley did not set out to become the first major playwright of the digital age, but that is what has happened, says Jonathan Mandell of New York Theatre in his interview with the playwright. Haley tells Mandell that after working in the theatre for years, she had the opportunity to learn web-design and Photoshop in a program specifically designed for artists- skills which then supported her in her early writing years. She states that there was no direct connection between becoming a web designer and a playwright, but after years of doing both, 'they simply started to merge...'

The world of technology and gaming was a major driving force in creation of  Jennifer Haley's play, The Nether.  In fact she openly admits to her time spent totally immersed, playing the popular World of Warcraft.    In conjunction with the NJ Premiere of the award-winning play at Centenary Stage Company this month, the theatre will hold several events during the run to fully explore the direction in which that technology is heading.  These events include guest speakers, talk backs with the cast and creative staff, and  as well as tech demos of the latest virtual reality technologies (such as  Oculus Rift), 3D scanning/printing and motion capture.
