Long Wharf Theatre, under the leadership of Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, begins its 2018-19 season with The Roommate, by Jen Silverman, directed by Mike Donahue.

Los Angeles' reigning Pumpkin King, Danny Elfman, will return to the Hollywood Bowl on Friday and Saturday, October 26 & 27 at 8:00 pm performing his role of Jack Skellington singing live to film for a very special screening of Disney's timeless holiday classic, Tim Burton's 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' for the film's 25th anniversary. California Shakespeare Theater (Cal Shakes) announced further details today for the Shakespearean centerpiece to the 2018 Epic Season, The War of the Roses. The War of the Roses is a monumental evening of theater spanning four history plays-the Henry VI trilogy and Richard III. Presented as an action-packed evening, The War of the Roses will deliver a fast-paced, far-ranging, vividly theatrical depiction of two powerful families-the Lancasters and the Yorks-and their decades-long fight for the English throne. Political unrest and power grabs collide with weak leadership and civil strife as the country fights against the threat of tyranny.

St. Ann's Warehouse will present the U.S. Premiere of The Jungle, the immensely acclaimed Good Chance Theatre co-production with the National Theatre and Young Vic. Currently opening a five-month run at London's Playhouse Theatre on the West End, The Jungle comes to St. Ann's beginning December 4, 2018.

Today Frantic Assembly announces its tour dates of The Unreturning, a brand new co-production with Theatre Royal Plymouth. Telling the interwoven stories of three men coming home from war, this new work by Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting winner Anna Jordan will be directed by Frantic Assembly associate director Neil Bettles and marks the 10th anniversary of Frantic Assembly's award-winning Ignition training programme. The Unreturning will have its world premiere at Theatre Royal Plymouth on 20 September 2018 before playing at various venues across the UK until 16 March 2019. Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, whose hit production of Camelot has extended through July 8 due to popular demand, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from August 21-September 2, providing more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.

The West End transfer of Tennessee Williams' intoxicating and rarely staged classic, Summer and Smoke, follows a sold-out and critically lauded run at the Almeida Theatre. Directed by the Almeida's Associate Director Rebecca Frecknall with the full cast reprising their roles for the West End run, this innovative new production of Summer and Smoke has a limited run from 10 November 2018 - 19 January 2019, at the Duke Of York's Theatre, with press night on Tuesday 20 November at 7pm.

Over the past three seasons, the Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company has been making its way through Shakespeare's history plays. Since 2015, the company has performed Richard II, a conflation of the two parts of Henry IV, and Henry V. Now the company is tackling Henry VI, Shakespeare's epic story of the Wars of the Roses, which the playwright wrote in three full-length plays. Director David Little and company executive director Katherine Mayberry, who serves as dramaturge for this production, have created a script that combines sections of all three parts of Henry VI into a single production. The production will also include original music, performed by a Balladeer character who helps to guide the audience through the story. Musical composition is by actor Scott Lange, who also plays the Balladeer.

The Acting Company announces the full cast of its one-night-only benefit reading of The Night of the Iguana, Tennessee Williams' feverishly poetic 1961 drama,at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues), on Monday, June 11.
