On Monday, November 30, the Theater People podcast welcomes Broadway favorite Elizabeth Stanley. She is currently headlining the first national tour of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY in the role of Francesca. Stanley made her Broadway debut as April in the 2006 John Doyle helmed production of COMPANY. She went on to originate the role of Allison in CRY BABY, and then Dyanne in MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. She was most recently seen on Broadway as Claire in last year's Tony-nominated ON THE TOWN.

Whether she's in the lead role or in the chorus of the latest musical, Ann Michels is a Twin Cities actor/singer who stands out and who finds a connection with her audiences.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. A limited Off-Broadway engagement plays now through December 27 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street), with Official Opening Night set for tonight, November 18.

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," celebrates its 25th anniversary season of adult, alternative musical theatre, with 25 TO LIFE! an evening of songs from New Line's first twenty-five years, for two nights only, January 5-6, 2016, at the Sheldon Concert Hall, behind the Fox Theatre in Grand Center.

Happy Birthday Michael Cerveris! Cerveris, who recently played 'Juan Peron' in Evita, has also appeared on Broadway in In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), Cymbeline, LoveMusik, Sweeney Todd, Children And Art, Passion, Assassins, Titanic and The Who's Tommy. His Off-Broadway credits include Road Show, King Lear, an oak tree, The Apple Tree, Wintertime, Fifth of July, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Blood Sports and Total Eclipse. Cerveris has also performed in regional productions of Anyone Can Whistle, Spring Awakening, Sunday in the Park with George, Chess and more.

Labyrinth Theater Company (Artistic Director Mimi O'Donnell, Executive Director Danny Feldman) presents a free, Halloween performance of Empanada Loca at 10pm on October 31. All tickets for this performance will be distributed via an online lottery system at labtheater.org. The lottery will open on October 26 at noon and will close at noon on October 30 at noon and winners will be contacted by 2pm.

Performers from the beloved Off-Broadway musical BARE are coming together to honor the show's late creator, Damon Intrabartolo, tonight, October 12, at Feinstein's/ 54 Below at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

On Thursday, September 24th, the National YoungArtsFoundation (YoungArts) kicked off their 2015-2016 season with the second annual YoungArts Awareness Day, a national campaign to encourage young artists to pursue their dreams of becoming professional artists and to show that #becauseofyoungarts, artists ages 15 to 18 years are able to take the next steps toward achieving their goals and building a strong professional network including award-winning and acclaimed alumni. Composer Paola Prestini, the Creative and Executive Director of National Sawdust (NS), today announced programming for the non-profit's inaugural fall season in its new home-a $16 million, 13,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art chamber hall in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The performance and recording venue, designed by Brooklyn-based architecture firm Bureau V in the shell of century-old former sawdust factory, will provide composers and musicians a setting in which they can flourish, and a place where they are given commissioning support, mentoring and other critical resources essential to create, and then share, their work. For audiences-serious fans and casual listeners alike-the venue will be a place to discover genre-spanning music at accessible ticket prices.
