I LEFT MY HEART AT THEATER CAMP, August 27 & 28 at 11:30PM:

Ah, summer camp: that beloved American rite of passage, giving many kids the chance to get out of the house and explore, and their parents the chance to have a bit of peace and quiet. But within that mass exodus of little ones every June, there exists a unique breed of children. Children who choose to forgo bug juice for Throat Coat. Children who have, at some point, wondered, "...could I get a care package of prednisone?" Children who know that not even the most gruesome murders depicted in '80s slasher film Sleepaway Camp can compare to the horror of waking up slightly hoarse the day you are to give the performance of your life as a 15-year-old Mama Rose. Now with summer over and September fast approaching, a motley crew of survivors have gathered to relive the old days by recreating camp (in senses both literal and figurative - trust us) performances. Over two nights (Thursday, August 27th: those of us who graduated in 2007-2009; Friday, August 28th: the graduates of 2010-2012), we will re-tackle the roles we most fondly remember - and bravely confront past psychological trauma in a few roles that, now that we are over 21, we drink to forget.Follies. The Wild Party. All-White Once On This Island. Should we have done these shows as children? Questionable. Did we do these shows as children? Yes. Will we revisit these shows for you on August 27 and 28? Absolutely. Featuring on August 27 include: Samantha Massell(Hunchback of Notre Dame), Matt Meigs (Matilda), Justin Schuman (Nice Work If You Can Get It), Larry Owens (Fat Camp), Rachel Geisler (Spring Awakening), Natalie Walker, Giuliana Carullo, Lily LaGravenese, Abby Goldfarb, Ali Gordon, Jodi Bluestein, Max Hunter, Brian Muller and Julia Nathan. Guests on August 28 include: Nick Christopher (Whorl Inside A Loop, Motown), Katherine Doherty (Mary Poppins, A Little Night Music), Andrew Kotzen, Kathryn Foley, Bettina Bresnan, Mary Catherine Hughes, Ariella Serur, Emily Wexler, Emily Kassie, Nick Martinez, Eric Freeman, Amanda Hawkins, Zachary Durand, Gino Chaviano, Jordan Silver. Also featuring Brad Simmons on Keys. $20 cover charge. $50 premium seating. $20 food and beverage minimum or two drinks.
