It has been announced today that Sarah Frankcom is stepping down as Artistic Director of the Royal Exchange Theatre to take up a new post as Director of the prestigious drama school LAMDA. Sarah originally joined the Exchange as Literary Manager in 1998. In 2008 she was made Joint Artistic Director before taking up her current position as sole Artistic Director in 2014. Under her artistic leadership the Exchange has thrived and has been celebrated for its originality, innovation and continued support for the next generation of writers, actors, directors and theatre makers. Described as a 'Powerhouse' and recognised for its 'brave and bold' programming Sarah has shaped the Theatre into an award-winning Company that asks what a producing theatre can be for artists, audiences and communities today.

The Off-Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off-Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents, and marketing firms, will hold the next event in its Seminars series focused on the Off-Broadway producing process on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the American premiere of Life After, a rapturously beautiful and stirring new musical with book, music, and lyrics by Britta Johnson. The Globe's own Barry Edelstein directs, with choreography by Ann Yee. Life After will run March 22 - April 28, 2019 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 22-28.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) has added three performances to its highly anticipated upcoming production of Birdy, adapted by Naomi Wallace from the novel by William Wharton, and directed by Steven Maler. The production now runs February 27 through March 17 at the Carling-Sorenson Theater at Babson College in Wellesley.

Incoming Artistic Director Simon Godwin today announces Shakespeare Theatre Company's 2019-2020 Season. Godwin's debut season highlights his artistic aspirations for the company to create high quality, exciting, inclusive theatre. Godwin states, This is not my season, but ours, everybody's season.

Rehearsals began this week for The Jamie Lloyd Company production of Harold Pinter's Betrayal which runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 5 March 2019 for a strictly limited season ending on 1 June. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, the production stars Golden Globe, Olivier and Evening Standard Award winner Tom Hiddleston, Zawe Ashton and Charlie Cox.

Farmers Alley Theatre is proud to present the Southwest Michigan premiere of the acclaimed Tony Award winning new play, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, based on the best-selling book of the same name. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Metamorphoses. This co-production with the Guthrie Theater is led by nationally and internationally renowned writer and director Mary Zimmerman.

Previews begin tonight for the world premiere production of The Convent, a new play by critically acclaimed playwright Jessica Dickey (The Amish Project, Charles Ives Take Me Home), directed by Daniel Talbott.

Underground Railway Theater is proud to present Bedlam's Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. Bedlam's Pygmalion runs from January 31 - March 3, 2019 and is directed by Bedlam Artistic Director Eric Tucker. The press performance is Monday, February 4 at 7:30PM.

Two of the country's most exciting young stars, Zawe Ashton and Charlie Cox, will join Golden Globe, Olivier and Evening Standard Award winner Tom Hiddleston in The Jamie Lloyd Company production of Harold Pinter's Betrayal at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 5 March 2019 (press night 13 March) for a strictly limited season ending on 1 June, directed by Jamie Lloyd. The production forms the culmination of the historic Pinter at the Pinter season.

Nicolas Talar for Enzo Products Ltd and Adam Blanshay Productions have announced the full casting for Notre Dame de Paris. Twenty years after its Parisian debut, and after receiving international acclaim in 23 countries worldwide, the French musical is set to be performed at London Coliseum. The original French production in London will be performed with English surtitles and a live orchestra from Wednesday 23 Sunday 27 January 2019, with a national press night on Wednesday 23 January 2019 at 7pm. The London run will culminate with the 5,000th performance of the worldwide hit show.

The Old Globe has announced The Old Globe Classical Directing Fellowship, led by the Globe's Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, a leading Shakespearean scholar, author, and director. Four directing fellows-Daniel Jaquez, Delicia Turner Sonnenberg, Sam White, and LA Williams-will participate in the pilot session of this new initiative. They will be in residence from Tuesday, January 22 through Friday, January 26, 2019.

TRIPTYCH THEATRE GROUP presents the West Coast premiere of STOCKHOLM, written by Bryony Lavery (Frozen), with choreography by Stephen Buescher and directed by Kim Rubenstein. STOCKHOLM will preview on Friday, January 11 at 8pm and open on Saturday, January 12 at 8pm will run through Monday, January 28 at The Pico Playhouse, 10508 W. The Gate Theatre have announced their next production, Dear Elizabeth, a two-hander by award winning US playwright Sarah Ruhl will be performed by a series of guest actors including Travis Alabanza, Jade Anouka,Tim Crouch, Tamsin Greig and Alex Jennings.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of "Tuesdays with Morrie," based on the best-selling memoir by Mitch Albom, on Monday, December 17, at 7 p.m.  Written by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom, the reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.

Weathervane Productions, Rising Phoenix Repertory, in association with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announce casting for the world premiere production of The Convent

Royal Shakespeare Company Associate Artist Alexandra Gilbreath returns to the company in Phillip Breen's riotous new production of John Vanbrugh's restoration comedy The Provoked Wife. Alexandra last appeared at the RSC as feisty courtesan Angellica Bianca in the 2016 production of The Rover by Aphra Behn. Other leading roles for the RSC include Hermione in The Winter's Tale, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Rosalind in As You Like It, Kate in The Taming of the Shrew and Mistress Ford in The Merry Wives of Windsor.
