Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is excited to announce the second show in its 20th Season ... Good People. Written by David Lindsay-Abaire, and directed by Jocelyn A. Second Stage Theater (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Casey Reitz, Executive Director) has announced that Golden Globe and two-time Emmy nominee Josh Charles, Kate Bornstein and Ty Defoe will join Armie Hammer and Tom Skerritt in the Broadway production of Young Jean Lee's dark comedy, STRAIGHT WHITE MEN, directed by Anna D. Shapiro.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) Artistic Director Bill Rauch announced the Festival's 2019 playbill today. Rehearsals are in full swing for The 5th Avenue Theatre's production of Kiss Me, Kate, which begins performances next Friday, April 6.

The Muny announced today that Tony and Grammy Award- winning artist Heather Headley and Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated artist Matthew Morrison will serve as co-hosts for The Muny's historic Centennial Gala show, An Evening with the Stars, May 18, 2018 at 9:15 p.m. at The Muny.

High school students, teachers and parents across Houston are celebrating and filled with anticipation as the nominations for the 16th Annual Tommy Tune Awards have just been announced on facebook.com/tommytuneawards. Emmy-winner and native Houstonian, Jim Parsons announced the nominees for Best Musical via video on the Tommy Tune Awards Facebook page. Parsons, who started his career on the stage in Houston, will star in The Boys in the Band on Broadway next month.

The Grand Theatre is thrilled to announce a first-time collaboration with the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), bringing A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS to the Spriet Stage. This acclaimed stage adaptation, based on the award-winning novel by Khaled Hosseini, had its world premiere in San Francisco in July 2016 and became the bestselling production in A.C.T.'s history. Last week, producers Marc Platt and Neil Meron met with members of the press to share some insight on NBC's upcoming JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR LIVE IN CONCERT. NBC's highly anticipated special event is set to star John Legend as Jesus Christ, Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene, Alice Cooper as King Herod, and Brandon Victor Dixon as Judas. The event will air live Easter Sunday, April 1, and will be presented as a concert staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's iconic rock opera. It will be performed in front of a live audience at the Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a three-week extension for Jerry Springer - The Opera, with Matt McGrath appearing as Jerry Springer beginning March 13.  Terrence Mann, currently appearing in the role of Jerry Springer, plays his final performance March 11 due to an existing commitment beyond that date.

Producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd today announced additional presenters for the 90th Oscars® telecast. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, “The Oscars” will air live Sunday, March 4, on The ABC Television Network.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Broadway's Marissa Jaret Winokur was crowned the winner of CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER on last nights finale episode. Winokur was awarded the grand prize of $250,000, with reality star Ross Matthews in second place winning $50,000. 

The 2018/19 Mirvish season will feature six Canadian premieres, one North American premiere, one pre-Broadway engagement and five new productions. A total of 16 shows will play at Mirvish theatres from June 2018 to July 2019. The main subscription season will feature seven shows and the Off-Mirvish season three shows. There will be six bonus shows that will not be on subscription.

On February 12th, The Museum of Modern Art will celebrate the early work of Tony Award-winning Hairspray and Smash songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman as part of its Club 57: Film, Performance, and Art in the East Village, 1978-1983 exhibition. Columnist Michael Musto will join the writers for the 7 PM conversation and mini-concert that will follow the birth of Shaiman and Wittman's careers as part of the New York City's Lower East Side club scene in the 1980s with an evening of video, conversation, and vocal performance. The evening will revisit a time when the two men found themselves 'too rock and roll for theater, and too theater for rock and roll', according to MoMA.

A North American Tour is announced today for the Lincoln Center Theater Broadway Production of FALSETTOS, William Finn and James Lapine's groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical. This production was nominated for five Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival when it returned to Broadway in Fall 2016, and this production will tour North America in the coming season.

Court Theatre, under the continuing leadership of Charles Newell, Marilyn F. Broadway's Marissa Jaret Winokur will be joining the cast of Celebrity Big Brother next season, according to Entertainment Weekly. Winokur won the 2003 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, Drama Desk Award, Theatre World Award, and Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance as Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray. She had previously appeared on Broadway as Jan in the revival of Grease. She reprised the role of Tracy Turnblad in the Hollywood Bowl production of Hairspray, which ran from August 5-7, 2011.
