Technically any venue with 500 seats or more, located along Broadway in New York City's Theatre District is a Broadway theatre, and the art that is produced in these special places is widely considered the highest form of theatrical entertainment in the world. Today, forty-one theatres are technically Broadway houses, each with their own rich history. Below, we're giving you the scoop on the life of every one of them!

Asolo Repertory Theatre and The Sarasota Ballet proudly announce the installation of brand new seating in the Harold and Esther Mertz Theatre, the main performing space for Asolo Repertory Theatre and the home of The Sarasota Ballet. The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-M st announced details of their 2019-2020 season which encompasses 76 concerts over 26 weeks. After ushering in a new era in independent and horror filmmaking with 1968's groundbreaking Night of the Living Dead, Romero embarked on a singular, influential four-decade career, imbuing his all-American nightmares with satiric and deadly serious commentaries on issues like race, capitalism, militarism, and government mistrust. In Romero's films, the monsters are not the other-they are us.

Directed by and starring Frank Ferrante, this over-top-top comedy from Tony Winner Ken Ludwig begins previews on January 15th, opens on January 23rd, and runs through March 3rd on the Walnut's Mainstage.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the Tony Award winning Best Revival will close this Sunday, January 6, 2019. When it closes this production will have played 29 previews and 458 performances. Today, dick clark productions and ABC announced one of the world's best-selling pop music icons, Christina Aguilera, will perform for a live audience of more than one million people just minutes before the ball drops on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019." Aguilera last performed on the show in 2007, and this year she will be joined by Bastille, Dan + Shay and New Kids On The Block in the hours leading up to the 2019 countdown. This marks multiplatinum artists Dan + Shay's first appearance on the show, and Bastille's second, while pop super group New Kids On The Block will take the New Year's Rockin' Eve stage for the second time-having last performed in 2011 with Backstreet Boys. Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda and Billboard Music Award-winning artist Frankie Negron joined Monday's announcement to lend their support to the Respeta Mi Gente coalition's efforts. By focusing on key issues, the Respeta Mi Gente comprehensive media initiative will encourage Puerto Ricans and Hispanics to engage in the local, state and federal elections.
