Legendary American composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim's masterwork Merrily We Roll Along is revisited in a new production under the direction of Tony Award nominee Michael Arden (Spring Awakening) set for the Bram Goldsmith Theater stage at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts from November 23 through December 18.

The 2015-16 Janet and Mark L. Goldenson Broadway Musical Concert Series at Rubicon Theatre Company concludes with a concert presentation of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG.

Full casting is today announced for Art at The Old Vic. Tim Key, Paul Ritter and Rufus Sewell star in Yasmina Reza's dazzling study of friendship, prejudice and tolerance. YES recently kicked off its 2016 U.S. summer tour, billed as 'The Album Series: Drama + Topographic 1 & 4.' The 'Evening With Yes' shows begin with the 1980 album DRAMA performed in its entirety followed by sides one and four of 1973's double album TALES FROM TOPOGRAPHIC OCEANS as well as selections of the band's greatest hits throughout. In a glowing review of last night's Lynn, MA show, the Boston Globe's Steve Smith said, 'Where those album recitals proved the present Yes equal to mighty acts of reanimation, the band's approach to canonical hits was equally commanding. 'I've Seen All Good People' and 'Siberian Khatru' closed the first set, 'And You and I' opened the second, and inevitably 'Roundabout' and 'Starship Trooper' arrived in the encore; this vital, hungry combo--not least a visibly animated [Steve] Howe--played it all with infectious gusto. Finding enduring fire even in thrice-familiar fare: it's this, more than which players turn up or what songs they pick, that will ensure Yes's staying power' (8/5/16).

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announces Ava DuVernay's documentary The 13th as the Opening Night selection of the 54th New York Film Festival (September 30 - October 16), making its world premiere at Alice Tully Hall.

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, announces a one-week extension to Company, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth. The production is directed by William Brown. Company features original orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick, Orchestral Reductions by Ian Weinberger, music direction by Tom Vendafreddo and choreography by Brock Clawson. The show, originally slated to run through July 31, 2016, will add an additional week, through August 7, in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe.

Blair McMillen and Pam Goldberg are thrilled to present the sixth season of the Rite of Summer Music Festival, taking place Summer 2016 on Governors Island, New York City. Rite of Summer will present free outdoor concerts Memorial Day weekend through late August.

Steven Spielberg will present John Williams with the American Film Institute's (AFI) 44th Life Achievement Award. This marks the first time in AFI history that America's highest honor for a career in film will be bestowed upon a composer.

MAD COW THEATRE announces the return of a singular downtown Orlando event - the 14th annual Orlando Cabaret Festival, featuring cabaret artists from Central Florida and beyond. Among the headliners for the 2016 Cabfest will be Broadway star Andrea McArdle, a leading lady ever since she played the very first Annie in the beloved Broadway show of the same name.

Almost thirty years after DRIVING MISS DAISY had its premiere Off-Broadway, this play still feels remarkably relevant today. The intimate setting at Act II Playhouse works well for this play as the audience immediately connects with the story. DRIVING MISS DAISY focuses on an older Southern woman, Daisy, and her chauffer, Hoke Colburn. At its heart, this play is about companionship and how friendship can transcend any barrier of race or creed. In addition, this show's cast is perfectly suited to their roles as they draw the audience into the story while heartwarmingly depicting the growing friendship between Daisy and Hoke. DRIVING MISS DAISY at Act II Playhouse, under the direction of James J. Christy, is a brilliant production complete with masterful performances.

It was a big night under the big top as Circus Now together with the Big Apple Circus, in association with Executive Producer and Director Jonathan S. Cerullo, JSC Theatricals, presented the 2nd Annual Celebration of American Circusat the Big Top at Lincoln Center on January 5, 2016. For the second year, the Celebration of American Circus boasted an impressive roster of honorees, all of whom have spent decades furthering the appreciation of circus arts in America. Four prominent artists and organizations were recognized for distinguished achievements in the American circus arts.
