April 27, 1927), wife of Martin Luther King Jr., and advocate for African-American equality.

The Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; James Houghton, Founder) Annual Gala will take place on Monday, March 12, 2018 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (located at 480 West 42nd Street between 9th & 10th Avenues). The event will celebrate the late Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee and honor the passionate and visionary leadership of former President of the Signature Board of Trustees, Michael Rauch. The Gala is taking place on what would have been Edward Albee's 90th Birthday.

The Institute's Feature Film and Documentary Film programs worked in collaboration to select three of the most exciting emerging filmmakers, working in both narrative and nonfiction forms.

Day for Night is proud to announce the program for the first edition of the Day for Night Summit, which will take place on Friday, December 15. On Thursday, October 19, 2017, The City of Thousand Oaks Cultural Affairs Commission will honor Michael Pearce, Tish Greenwood, Edward Francis, and Young Artists Ensemble for their work in the arts. The free event will be followed by a light reception. Feature film, short film, episodic and Virtual Reality submissions are now being accepted via Withoutabox, with early deadlines beginning August 7; more information about submissions and deadlines is at sundance.org/submit.

Sundance Institute Brings $151 Million in Economic Impact to Utah with 2017 Sundance Film Festival

The nonprofit Sundance Institute today announced that its 2017 Sundance Film Festival, which took place in Park City, Salt Lake City and Sundance, Utah in January, generated a total economic impact of $151.5 million. These numbers come from an independent economic and demographic study conducted by Y² Analytics, which used updated methodology and technology to give a more complete picture of the Festival's impact on the state of Utah's economy. They are in addition to the economic impact of Sundance Institute's year round Utah-based programs, such as the Filmmaker Labs and Summer Film Series.
