The Almeida Theatre Today Announces Two New Almeida Young Company Shows.

Creative Time is pleased to announce the programming schedule for Basilea, the organization's first international public art project, commissioned by Art Basel. The talks and workshops will be free and open to the public on the Messeplatz starting today, Monday, June 11, and running through Sunday, June 17.

In 1968, playwright David Edgar was 20 years old. It was also the year of some of the most important and formative events in modern history, including the Paris student revolt, the assassination of Martin Luther King, Enoch Powell's "rivers of blood" speech, and the ongoing war in Vietnam. Trying It On is a new play written and performed by David Edgar, which reflects on the legacy of this momentous year, drawing on first-person interviews with some of the leading political figures of the time, as well as contemporary activists. The performance also marks David's first professional stage performance in this contemplative one-man play.

Meany Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Washington announces its 2018/19 Season, presenting 24 visionary artists and ensembles that are pushing artistic boundaries, blending genres and redefining the meaning of creative mastery. Further events are today announced for Almeida For Free - Summer & Smoke, the Almeida Theatre's free festival for anyone aged 25 and under taking place from Tuesday 3 - Thursday 5 April.

The San Francisco International Arts Festival (SFIAF) released the detailed performance schedule for the 2018 Program today. Forty different artist ensembles and companies will present their work exclusively at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) from May 24 - June 3. Early Bird Tickets will go on sale for $15 on Thursday March 1.

Latino Public Broadcasting (LPB), the WORLD Channel and KQED today announced the launch of Storybored USA, a new web series designed to empower diverse youth and millennials to tell their stories through creative arts and media. The ten-part series launches today at www.youtube.com/worldchannel with the first two episodes; two additional episodes will launch every Thursday from February 1-22. Storybored USA is a co-production of William D. Caballero and Latino Public Broadcasting, and is a presentation of WORLD Channel, in association with KQED. Major funding provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
