Purple Snowflakes is a vibrant story of survival, a fearless example of semi-autobiographical storytelling and Irish humour. We follow Sarah as she navigates her way through grief, drunken nights, and a variety of sexual exploits in a hilarious and heart-breaking exploration of mental illness, sexuality, and friendship. After a sold-out run as part of the Maiden Speech festival in October, Purple Snowflakes is back for one night only at Above The Arts Cabaret Club. Purple Snowflakes is written and performed by Sarah Hanly, and directed by Alice Fitzgerald.

Alice Fitzgerald says, "It is increasingly important that stories like Purple Snowflakes are told. The unapologetic way in which the show confronts female sexuality is refreshing, and Hanly doesn't shy away from addressing mental health issues in an open and truthful way."

Sarah Hanly says, "It is important to me to keep the conversation going about issues like mental health, destructive relationships and sexuality. Purple Snowflakes explores all these themes and more through my own personal journey and perspective. Ultimately, I hope that by talking about it so openly and honestly, I am able to help and encourage others to seek support."

Situated above the Arts Theatre, Above The Arts Cabaret Club is a gorgeous new intimate venue in the heart of the West End.

Lexi Clare Productions is a fresh new Production Company with a focus on providing platforms for emerging artists and feminist work. In October 2017, Lexi Clare Productions launched the inaugural Maiden Speech festival, which successfully staged nine new plays by emerging female artists.
