Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival , one of New York's premier summer performance series, kicks off its 51st season on July 25. Among the highlights in the first two weeks are a special opening concert led by Louis Langrée, Renée and Robert Belfer Music Director, featuring traditional and indigenous songs from Mozart's time; a choral presentation by Les Arts Florissants; and guest conductors Edward Gardner and Gianandrea Noseda; festival debuts by more than 10 artists, including Kit Armstrong, Janai Brugger, Jennifer Johnson Cano, S? Jonah Bokaer Choreography presents OCCUPANT

On June 15 Jonah Bokaer Choreography will be presenting OCCUPANT and Study For Occupant for their Hudson Premiere. This will be Jonah's third performance run at Melissa Auf Der Maur's Basilica Hudson: OCCUPANT is a trio for three dancers performed by Tal Adler-Arieli, Sara Procopio, Betti Rollo), preceded by a Jonah Bokaer solo, Study For Occupant, both with scenic collaborations with Daniel Arsham. Minimal and mesmerizing, these works were inspired by the Edward Albee play of the same name. OCCUPANT, has been presented worldwide including The Fabric Workshop & Museum in Philadelphia; The Spoleto Festival in Italy; The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami; and the Monodramas Festival of Luxembourg. Multimedia collaborators for this work include scenographer Arsham, sound designer Jesse Stiles, dramaturg Gavin Kroeber, and composer Ryoji Ikeda (Dataplex). (more...)

Director Lee Blakeley Passes Away Age 45

A.R.T. Institute Alumni Critical of Diane Paulus's Leadership in Response to School's Three-Year Hiatus

Harvard University's ART Institute, the university's graduate-level theater program within the American Repertory Theater, recently announced a three-year admissions suspensions while administrators implement a strategic plan to stabilize the troubled program. On July 30, the A.R.T. Institute Alumni Association sent a letter to the leaders of the Institute criticizing Diane Paulus's 'little respect or interest in the program' and 'negligence in her duty to the Institute.'
