The first new Broadway production of Tim Rice's and Andrew Lloyd Webber's landmark musical EVITA since its premiere over 30 years ago stars Grammy-winning international pop icon Ricky Martin as Che, Olivier Award-winning Argentinean actress Elena Roger making her Broadway debut as Eva Peron and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Peron. Andrew Lloyd Webber will be appearing on the Canadian talk show George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight on Monday, September 24 at 7 pm on CBC Television (Canada's national public broadcaster) for an in depth interview. The full interview can also be watched via live stream at www.strombo.com. CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA. These CDs boast the best voices from the worlds of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours. A full track list for this year's 14th edition has not yet been announced, but Michael Cerveris, Elena Roger, Max von Essen, and the cast of Broadway's EVITA was already hard a work this week recording their track for the album. Beginning Monday, September 3, 2012, Ricky Martin's performance schedule as Che in the hit production of EVITA will be Tuesdays at 7pm, Wednesdays at 2pm & 8pm, Thursdays at 8pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm & 8pm. Max von Essen and Daniel Torres will alternate in the role of Che at Monday evening performances. The schedule change is part of a slight restructuring of Mr. Martin's appearance agreement with producers and will not change his overall number of performances in EVITA.

Tony Award winner Michael Cerveris performed 'Finishing the Hat' from Sunday in the Park with George, what he says used to be his audition song, at Broadway Sessions on August 2nd, 2012, accompanied by Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. Watch the video below!

Broadway star Ricky Martin appeared on last night's LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON to talk about his starring role as 'Che' in EVITA and his development deal with NBC to write, produce and star in a new TV series. 'I'm really looking forward to it,' said Martin of the upcoming project. The actor also revealed his love of Twitter and his new habit of tweeting 'intermission pictures' from backstage to give fans a behind-the-scenes peek. While Latin hearthrob Ricky Martin is signed to star in EVITA through the end of the year, with a Spring 2013 contract extension possible as well, Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that producers are already on the hunt for replacement stars as 'Che' to ensure the show continues when Martin departs.

EVITA's Rachel Potter appeared on this morning's GOOD DAY NEW YORK to chat about 'Broadway in Bryant Park,' the free summer concert series hosted by 106.7 Lite FM. After chatting about the upcoming event, Potter gave viewers a special performance of 'Another Suitcase in Another Hall' from Evita. Check out this morning's appearance below!

Max von Essen is scheduled to again step into the role of 'Che' for six performances, August 6-11, in the new Broadway production of EVITA while Ricky Martin is on vacation.

This Thursday, August 2nd, Broadway Sessions welcomes cast members from the hit Broadway revival of Evita. Cast members scheduled to perform include Daniel Torres, Rachel Potter, Melanie Field, Sydney Morton, Emily Mechler, Laurel Harris and Colin Cunliffe.

After her sold out 'Live the Dream' EP release concert, and back by popular demand, Rachel Potter will return to Joe's Pub on July 29, 2012. Kicking off her 'Live the Dream' mini NYC tour, Rachel will be joined on the intimate stage by Cosmo Country Duo, The Vanity Belles. Check out a video promo for the event below!
