The 2017 New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, will return for the 52nd season with four free outdoor concerts, conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, at Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx (June 13); the Great Lawn in Central Park, Manhattan (June 14); Cunningham Park, Queens (June 15); and Prospect Park, Brooklyn (June 16). In addition, New York Philharmonic musicians will perform at the Free Indoor Concert at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden on June 18, 2017. Major corporate support for the 2017 New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks and the Free Indoor Concert has been provided by MetLife Foundation, Citi, and Emirates Airline.

The California Symphony today announced its 2017-18 season, its thirty-first, and its fifth with Music Director Donato Cabrera. The season includes a world premiere and a West Coast premiere, first performances of Mozart's Requiem and Sibelius's Third Symphony, the first performances in more than 20 years of Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, Pastoral, and Mahler's Symphony No. 4, the first performance of a work of Mahler's since the Orchestra's 1997-98 season. The Orchestra also welcomes guest soloists Haochen Zhang in Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2; soprano Maria Valdes in Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915 and in Mahler's Symphony No. 4; and Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 with Alexi Kenney. The Orchestra gives the world premiere of new Young American Composer-in-Residence Katherine Balch's newest work, a California Symphony commission; and performs two works by Bay Area-based composer Nathaniel Stookey: the West Coast premiere of YTTE (Yield to Total Elation), and The Composer is Dead, the popular orchestral whodunit by Stookey and author Lemony Snicket, with Broadway star Manoel Felciano as narrator. Other highlights include performances with the San Francisco Conservatory Chorus and conductor Ragnar Bohlin of Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and Arvo Pärt's Te Deum, as part of the Mozart Requiem concert, and a performance of Smetana's Vltava (Die Moldau).

TimeLine Theatre Company, recipient of the 2016 MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions and acclaimed for presenting plays inspired by history that connect to today's social and political issues, announces its 2017-18 season. 

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the world premiere production of Roe written by Lisa Loomer and directed by Bill Rauch. Roe is a co-production with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Arena Stage.

The Guthrie Theater today announced seven of the nine productions to be offered as part of the theater's 2017-2018 subscription season, including Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Todd Kreidler's Guess Who's Coming to Dinner on the Wurtele Thrust Stage, and Lillian Hellman's Watch on the Rhine, Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, Danai Gurira's Familiar, Kia Corthron's world premiere adaptation of Ibsen's An Enemy of the People and Matthew Lopez's The Legend of Georgia McBride on the McGuire Proscenium Stage.

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra Music Director Jeffrey Kahane conducts some of his top musical picks in this deeply personal orchestral program that includes the world premiere of Shiver and Bloom by rising composer Julia Adolphe on Saturday, March 18, 8 pm, at Glendale's Alex Theatre, and Sunday, March 19, 2017, 7 pm, at Royce Hall. 

In the final subscription concerts of his tenure as Music Director, Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic joined by musicians from orchestras around the world in concerts celebrating the power of music to build bridges and unite people across borders. The New York Philharmonic will return to Bravo! Hollywood Producer and Past Board Chairman Julius Nasso will receive Harbor Lights 'Culture Award' for his contributions to culture in our borough, which include the creation of The Staten Island Film Festival, and over five years of service to Harbor Lights, including a term as Board President.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic on the EUROPE / SPRING 2017 tour, March 23-April 7, 2017. The two-week tour - Alan Gilbert's ninth and final international tour as Music Director, the seventh with him to Europe - will feature fourteen concerts in seven countries.
