Normally, in a who-done-it, the question facing the audience is to figure out who the killer is. In DIAL M FOR MURDER, which is now on-stage at Great Lakes Theater, Jeffrey Hatcher, who rewrote the present play version of the epic, doesn’t leave us in the air.

First staged in 1952 and made iconic by Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 film adaptation, DIAL M FOR MURDER, now showing here in Austin and produced by Jarrott Productions, has long held its place as one of the most stylish and suspenseful thrillers in theatre. Originally penned by Frederick Knott, the play spins a darkly intricate web of deception, betrayal, and the illusion of the perfect crime.

Dial 'M' for Murder is surely one of the most perfect productions I’ve seen at The Rep in some years. Jordan Coughtry plays Tony, the scheming husband. His performance is from the Realm of Ideal Forms. It is that perfect!
