The internationally-acclaimed hit theater show The Simon & Garfunkel Story will play the Peace Center on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m. as part of its tour of more than 45 U.S. and Canadian cities from coast to coast. The immersive concert-style show chronicles the amazing journey shared by the folk-rock duo Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. It tells the story from their humble beginnings as Tom & Jerry, to their incredible success as one of the best-selling music groups of the '60s, to their dramatic split in 1970. It culminates with the famous The Concert in Central Park reunion in 1981 with more than half a million fans in attendance.

In light of the news that the current presidential administration has recommended eliminating funding for the National Endowment for the Arts, Jeff Moore, the Dean, of the College of Arts & Humanities at the University of Central issued a statement on the importance of the NEA's funding just days before UCF's signature artistic event UCF Celebrates the Arts. The week of events will take place at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts from April 7th-14th, and will include performances, displays, discussions, and more from all of the schools in the College of Arts & Humanities.

The Mary Elizabeth Dee Shaw Gallery (http://weber.edu/shawgallery/) is set to host the Utah debut of Latin American-born artist, Lydia Okumura. Utilizing simple materials such as string, glass and paint, Okumura's work dynamically balances line, plane and shadow. The exhibition entitled, 'Lydia Okumura: Situations' opens on March 3, 2017 with an opening reception at 7 p.m. The exhibition runs from March 3 - April 7.

Opera is for everyone-and so is Seattle Opera's 2017/18 season! There's a new bilingual performance for elementary-school students, new performance venues such as Georgetown Steam Plant, a new mainstage collaboration with ACT Theatre and Seattle Symphony leaders, and even an outdoor performance offered free of charge. Regardless of background or socioeconomic status, this season offers ways for a broad audience to be able to experience opera; it's an open invitation for the Pacific Northwest.

On Sunday, July 10, over one hundred black women artists gathered at the New Museum to form a collective force underground, known as Black Women Artists for Black Lives Matter (BWA for BLM). Simone Leigh, the New Museum's current artist-in-residence, whose exhibition 'The Waiting Room' is on view through September 18, convened this group in response to the continued inhumane institutionalized violence against black lives in the U.S.

The song is from the 1977 musical 'Drake's Dream' which opened at the Shaftesbury Theatre on December 7th 1977 and ran for 82 performances. The track is performed by leading actor / singer (and former lead vocalist of Manfred Mann) Paul Jones.
