The Cohen New Works Festival, presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance at The University of Texas at Austin, returns in a biennial, five-day festival celebrating new, student-created work April 15-19, 2019 on the university campus. The 2019 Festival will present 30 new works, including works of dance, theatre, new plays, installations and site-specific performance work.

MasterVoices will conclude its 2018-19 season with the world premiere of a new adaptation of the legendary Kurt Weill, Ira Gershwin, Moss Hartmusical Lady in the Dark. Presented as part of New York City Center's 75th-anniversary season, it is directed and conducted by MasterVoices Artistic Director Ted Sperling, and choreographed by Doug Varone.

Since my days as a pothead are long gone (LOL)—did anyone ever watch 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY without a little help from a friend?--I came to the Boston Symphony's (BSO) concert at Carnegie Hall the other night more interested in hearing the excerpts from Richard Strauss's CAPRICCIO, including Renee Fleming in its final scene, than in the composer's ALSO SPRACH ZARATHUSTRA. As it turned out, both parts of the concert, under Music Director Andris Nelsons, had much to recommend.

The Downtown Urban Arts Festival today announced its 2019 artist line-up for the 17th annual multi-disciplinary arts festival showcasing music, poetry, live theater and film. The five-week Downtown Urban Arts Festival performs April 11-May 18 at Joe's Pub, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, The Wild Project and Tribeca Film Center, respectively.

Musco Center presents actor, writer, singer, style icon, activist, and all-around Renaissance man Alan Cumming in Legal Immigrant on Wednesday, April 17 at 7:30 pm. The show is a cabaret of powerful songs and stories, anecdotes and social commentary written with the hope to change negative rhetoric around immigration. Cumming uses his own journey to obtaining American citizenship in 2008 to remind audiences that America is a country shaped by its rich diversity.

The McCallum Theatre presents Piaf! - The Show on Tuesday, March 26, at 8:00pm. FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with Manhattan Theatre Source will present the 2019 EstroGenius Festival, the longest running festival celebrating the work of women and gender non-conforming artists in NYC.  Begun in Manhattan Theatre Source in 2000 as a short-play festival, the festival has launched and supported hundreds of artists in its 19 years. In 2017 the festival moved to its new home at The Kraine Theatre on E. 4th St.

In the second concert of its 51st season, New Amsterdam Singers (NAS) will perform Brahms's popular Zigeunerlieder (Gypsy Songs), along with choral works by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Wolf, and recent pieces by contemporary American composers Carol Barnett and Robert S. A 40th Anniversary reunion benefit concert of the 1979 hit Broadway production of They're Playing Our Song will be held on Monday, February 11th at 7:30 pm at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th St.) and will star the Broadway cast members Lucie Arnaz as 'Sonia Walsk' and Robert Klein as 'Vernon Gersch'.

Red Bull Theater today announced the cast for the next REVELATION READING, Mike Poulton's (Fortune's Fool, Wolf Hall) Don Carlos by Friedrich Schiller, directed by Mr. Berger: Ron Canada, Helen Cespedes, Celeste Ciulla, Kelley Curran, Sanjit De Silva, Ezra Knight, Sam Lilja, Ismenia Mendes, Patrick Page, Rod Singleton, and Paxton Whitehead.  This will take place on Monday February 25 at 7:30pm at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets).

Accompany Utah Symphony Music Director Thierry Fischer in two consecutive Masterworks weekends as the Utah Symphony completes the cycle of J.S. Bach's renowned Brandenburg Concertos at 7:30 PM in Abravanel Hall.
