The Fred Ebb Foundation and Birdland Jazz Club announced additional performers for Sing Happy: The Lyrics of Fred Ebb, which will take place next week at Birdland Jazz Club.

This season the new musical New York, New York is bringing the hopes and dreams of young artists to the Broadway stage in a new musical from iconic duo John Kander and Fred Ebb. From their meeting in 1964, Kander and Ebb have forged one of the longest-running and most successful partnerships in Broadway history, crafting beloved hits like Flora, the Red Menace, Cabaret, Zorba, Chicago, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Curtains, The Scottsboro Boys and many more. 

Blue Mountain Gallery presents Pamela Berkeley's newest solo show “From the Hollow,” November 29 – December 24. The twenty-five paintings and drawings include recent work as well as a selection of the artist's work spanning five decades. Berkeley's works are created in oil and pastel on canvas or linen, and range in size from eight by eight inches to six by eight feet.

His work can currently be seen with their current production of Holiday which runs through November 6th.

The African American Arts Alliance will present Black United Theater Auditions and pre-audition “Focus on You” preparatory events for African American performers and students of Chicago. The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company announced today that applications for the seventeenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters are now available. Applications will be accepted from June 1 - June 30, 2021. The winner will be selected in November of 2021.

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!
